René is no more

You might remember me writing here a few weeks ago about my spiritual counselore René who was in very poor health.

I got a phonecall a couple of hours ago, he went in peace in his sleep at 7.15 tonight CET.

Such a sad Christmas it will be, and since I'm going to visit my family leaving on Saturday I won't even be able to go to his funeral.

I feel devastated.

Please pray for him, there is a small group set up, called ThC, please feel free to light a candle for him.

God welcome his generous soul in His ever loving arms, I have no doubt somehow he will keep on helping and loving people from above.

Dear Chiara, I am so very sorry for your loss. I just lit a candle for Renee and I'' light one for you that you may be comforted in your grief. Rene is still with you, not only in your heart, but closer than ever.

thank you so much, knowing there are people praying for him is a huge comfort.
 
I forced myself to go and see him one last time as I won't be there for the funerals.
 
He looks so peaceful, finally.
 
A Mass was celebrated with his mortal body present this midday in the small studio he called home, it was emotional and intimate and everyone present thought he would have liked it.
 
My heart is a little bit more at peace, but it will take time.

Chiara, I am glad you went to see Rene, even though it was difficult. Had you not done so you might come to regret it, when it is too late. I am sure the mass for him was comforting and he was right there.
Here in Chicago it just stopped raining after 1 1/2 days of it, but more is promised.
