Dear Barbara,
What a moving and heartfelt poem! Beautiful.

I realized fairly early in my adult life what a great gift my Mother gave to me in her own attitude to unmarried mothers. As a child I had quite rigid views on what was right and wrong (I've since learned different views ) and felt my Mother was unusually liberal and tollerant for her generation. Until, that is, I discovered how innocent she had been as a young woman, and didn't know how babies were made!! Of course, my Father took advantage of her and she became pregnant with my eldest Sister, who was a twin. The twin died soon after birth. Imagine the shock and trauma of my poor Mother, who not only didn't know she was pregnant, but had a difficult birth and lost one of her babies. She never told me all this, but one of my Sisters enlightened me. From then on I had a lot of admiration for my Mother, and understood her attitude to others in her situation. It changed my views overnight.

I don't know what you think, but I guess Mary, our Lady, was really an unmarried mother herself. You would think the church would be more compassionate wouldn't you?

Love, Jude

I am so glad that you have decided to keep the baby. You do need to start getting more rest and start taking better care of yourself. ( I know that it's hard when you have no help) Also, please continue to lean on us if you need to talk. I'm sure you will find a bunch of loving people ready to cheer you up.  I hope that in the future you will be able to feel safe enough to leave your boyfried and find a safe place to live where you will have plenty of friends. Please take care of yourself. We will be looking for up-dates on you and the baby and praying for you as well.  Please let us know if you need anything. God bless you and your neww bundle of joy!

Dear Angela
I have sent prayers to St Gerard the saint of expectant and new mothers to help you as you face the miracle of birth. Your daughter is perfect and welcome her to the world what a beautiful gift and you will be a beautiful mother as long as you keep your focus on the beauty this holds Please love her father from a distance and keep in mind people with prayer can change even the hardest thoughts can soften but your safety and serentiy must always be your priority Many Blessings to you I have enclosed a poem I wrote to my daughters when they were born they read it often as they grew with me and my Mom intheir fathers absence. As young womwn n his maturity he became a wonderful father and grandfather.

“Your Father”

Your father loves you , yes he does
Although he is not near as the sun rises above
He may never caress you to his chest
He always knows you are in my nest

Your father loved you yes he did
Although he knew he was just a kid
The years for you to grow were slow
He thought he could never learn to help
                                                       you grow

Your father loves you, yes he does
He entrusted you to my sincere love
For my love grows and grows
No matter how our life goes

And  as the sun sets in the night
Regardless that you are not in his sight
His heart will always sing your name
Until  a man he can return again.

I am so happy for you on your new bundle of joy. I am also so very glad that you've decided to keep your daughter. I thank God that ya'll both are ok. I'm glad to also hear that the baby's daddy has decided to come around. Maybe he has had a change of heart as for you, go with your gut feeling. Don't take any crap off of him. the main thing is that you stay healthy, happy and safe and that you have good friends and a support system. Thanks again for the up-dates. Please continue to stay in touch. Always remember that we are here for you.
