intentions

recently i read some messages at the message boards where people posted about intentions they set. Would anyone like to join me in a thread on this topic? Perhaps to set a daily intention or an intention for the next hour, month, etc.. For instance, today I intend to remember God frequently. Perhaps if it seems like a good idea, I'll write about the results. With Love, kriann

Great idea, Kriann! I think often our resolutions are too general and are not kept. Mapping out something "doable" for a limited time may be more helpful and manageable, at least for me! Today I intend to be more patient while waiting for buses and appointments. Much love, Edda

Dear Kriann, thank you for beginning such a complementary thread to the "Today I am Grateful For" thread. Yes, it is good to be grateful for all the little "stuff" of each day and your new thread completes that thought--now that I have been given all these things, what little thing can I do in return. As I quickly read your post this morning, the first thing that popped into mind was to begin catching up on all the stuff that needed to be let go of, rather than just sitting there staring at it. Half way through the day, I can now say that some urgent things that were put off have now been taken care of. May the day finish with my positive commitment to this "intention for the day." Thank you for being open to a "new thread from the Spirit."
Yesterday is gone forever.Tomorrow may not come. Live Fully each moment today. Look for Good Things that Happen to you Every Day.

My resolution for today turned out a bit too easy. I hardly had to wait for a bus. When I arrived early for my appointment I was called in before I could read a page in my book! Now my patience was tried, when about 160 children from our parish school unexpectedly came for morning mass which required some quick adjustments. Edda

i receive a daily meditation every morning that is really helpful with ways to live in a more positive way. It's also a great source for help with ideas for intentions and affirmations. Here's the link to the website: http://www.meditationsforwomen.com/

Kriann, thank you for beginning this thread and for the new website. Today my intention is not to feel overwhelmed by all that needs to be taken care of, but rather to just take one small thing at a time, calmly focus on doing just that one thing and then moving on to the next with the same focus.
Yesterday is gone forever.Tomorrow may not come. Live Fully each moment today. Look for Good Things that Happen to you Every Day.

Jude, that's an excellent intention for me as well. I'm home today and tomorrow to do chores and clean out closets, and so far I'm kinda' overwhelmed by the task, so today I'm going to take your intention as mine! Hugs, Lori

Kriann, I like your thread, too, and it is an important one for me! I can identify with all of the intentions mentioned so far. Having to choose one of them for today, though, I´ll take yours, Betty: doing one small thing at a time, giving it full attention. In German: EINS NACH DEM ANDEREN (ONE THING AFTER THE OTHER). "Stop thinking! The answers will come from your gut, your heart and your soul, not your thinking." My intention for the day as once again, I wade through all that needs to be done and send prayers for Kevin who is out there somewhere on his 500 mile solo trek. It has been two weeks since the last hearing from him. May he be safe and completely open to all the experiences the Holy One has as gifts for him.

Oops! Sorry, Betty! I thought my post was responding to Jude and it was responding to you! (I'd read a lot of posts that day, I guess! ) It's nighttime here, but my intention for tomorrow is to try to follow the words of Gandhi: "Be the change you want to see in the world." Lori

To calmly, mindfully, finish what I can today and to let go of all that doesn't get finished, no matter how important I thought it was.
