Enlighten Up!
-

During this difficult election season, I invite everyone, no matter what your political views, to pray for wisdom, peace and hope for this country and its leaders. Let's fill this sanctuary with messages of support for each other and for everyone struggling with fear and uncertainty. Let's light up this space with messages of inspiration rather than scorn, with love instead of anger, and with as much wisdom and honesty as we can muster. Namaste.

Beverin, I welcome your post and agree whole-heartedly. I'm on the other side of the 'pond' so to speak, but know that the US president is a very important person for the rest of the world, so do indeed pray for wisdom, peace and hope. Wisdom, Love and Light are always much more powerful than Anger, Fear and Hate. Jude

Beverin, I second your request for prayers for wisdom in our leaders and wisdom for those who elect them. Let them engage in frank and respectful discourse about issues affecting the well-being of all people. Now is a time to put out a lot of positiv energy creating an atmosphere of hope and constructive thinking. Edda

Beverin, I welcome you and your request for prayer for your big country, and I will certainly pray for wisdom, peace and hope for it and its leaders. We will have important elections in little Austria, too (9/28). Please join me in praying for the same qualities to overcome all negative forces here! Beverin, thanks for your input and your idea. We all need to pray for our country. No matter who we choose to elect. We all need to come together and decide that it doesn't matter who wins the election, it matters that we all need to just get along and start loving each other more!

This post comes after a week of frustration with all the mud slinging and meaningless disrespect between the candidates. Yet I was adding to the energy of it with my own criticisms about them. It is much much better to focus on prayer for wisdom and good leadership. Thank you for opening my heart.

Kriann, I doubt if any one of us could say, hand on heart, that we hadn't got angry with the whole thing!! I wrote here once recently about my friend Jinny who used to imagine blowing kisses to all the political leaders which I and other friends found impossible to do. I could just manage to visualize sending them a little stream of red hearts instead. But I do still get exasperated with them all. Jude

Yes we need it. I pray that something good will come about the recent economic talks with American leaders and the UK PM, hopefully they may get their heads together and devise a strategy too with Afghanistan and Iraq as I am sure that is not helping the worlds economies. Is there a candle group for Englighten?
