Please pray for my husband who is currently serving in Afghanistan. I'm so worried about him.

Welcome to the forum, Tezsan! My heart goes out to you! I can well understand that you are worried about your husband. I'll be glad to keep him in my prayers. I will light a candle for him in the ALL group. Perhaps you would like to start a special group just for him. You can find the instructions in the top threads. Please, return here and tell us more about yourself and him, if you wish to do so. There are many here who are glad to support you! With much love, Edda

Dear Tezsan, When I first came to this site tonight I went to the 'All' group and your candle was the one I chose to read and join in prayer with you.!! I didn't know then that you had also come to the Forum. Welcome. I will certainly light a candle for you and your husband, praying that he comes home safely to you. Jude

Dear Tezsan, A prayer of safety for your husband and for all those serving with him. My niece is returning home from her tour over there. We thank God she stayed safe. Hugs, Lynn

I certainly will join in with Hildegard and your other friends on here and will light a candle for your husband. I pray as I write this for him to be safe. Keep strong for him I know it is so hard, my daughter's husband is training too to go in a few months, so you do have my heartfelt prayers, Tezsan. love and light Gina and Jackoryx

Thank you so much everyone. Reading all your replies brought tears to my eyes. I have to admit that since my father died when I was five I've not been a very religious person. I couldn't understand why god would take someone so early when he was needed here so much. But like many have said before "In the hour of great need you will turn to God." My husband and I have been together for eight years and married since two, there has been a lot of ups and downs, same as in every relationship. Only recently we have been posted and two months later he went off to Iraq for 2 months, due to promotion returned for 3 weeks and then deployed to Afghan (no idea how long for). It's a really tought time, as I hardly know anyone here and without my other half I feel so lost and lonely. Many issues have made it even harder - I so wish there would be some light on the end of the tunnel. I know I have to be strong for both of us, but it's so hard trying to support him and not knowing how to get through it all. I always thought I was a strong person, but lately I feel like I've reached my limits. Thanks again for your replies. I have opened a group called TP for my husband, so if you'd like to light a candle for him and include him in your prayers, please do so, its much appreciated. Sandra

Dearest Sandra, Thank you so much for sharing more about you and your husband with us! I repeat, my heart goes out to you as you feel so lonely and worried! You may not know many where you are located, but there may be others who feel just like you do. Perhaps you might try to reach out to just one other wife. There might be groups that would welcome you. How do you get through this? Most of us will tell you that it is one day at a time. Uncertainty is hard to deal with. You want to support your husband. Let him also support you! We can't be strong all the time! You need a shoulder to lean on like everyone else! Here you have found a caring family who wants to support you in whatever way we can. It is also a safe place where you can share your feelings, and someone will be ready to listen to you. I am glad you started a candle group. I'll light a candle there and keep you and your husband in my prayers. Much love and warm hugs, Edda

Dear Sandra, Thank you for telling us some more about your life. It helps us get to know you a little more. Everyone tells me I'm a strong person, and I think I must be, but like you I don't feel it very often. I am very grateful that I don't have a loved one away somewhere, risking his life, and I'm not surprised you are feeling wobbly about it. As Edda says, there are bound to be others in your situation and feeling just like you. I'm glad you have started a candle group. I will light a candle there for you both. Love, Jude
