For Lori's Retreat - 10/14/2008 8:18 AM ( #1 )
Lori will be on retreat from October 30 to November 2. I have started a candle group of prayers for her retreat Lori. May it bring abundant blessings and the stillness and peace of experiencing how much she is loved by our God

Dear Betty . . .
I don't know who Lori is . . . someone very close to you, but from your message it appears that she is someone who can be greatly blessed by experience of the upcoming retreat.
I will keep her my thoughts and prayers, and light a candle for her as well.

Sparrow, if you go back maybe about 6 months, you will see lots of posts from Lori. She made her first retreat in decades last fall and it was a phenomenal experience for her. She is a professional counselor for teens with addiction problems and their families. She is also a member of her church choir and last spring had two very close members of the choir stricken with cancer, one who survived and the other died. Though she doesn't get back to post that often now, we still keep in touch. I couldn't agree more with you about gratitude for the gift of water. It quite surprised me that unlike the U.S., a glass of water isn't immediately brought to the table in a restaurant. Generally, if I wanted water with my meal, I would have to purchase a bottle of it much the same as one purchases a bottle of wine here.

Blessings on your day.

Betty, do you remember Lori's screen name? I know exactly who you are talking about but I can't find her since we have more than one Lori! (Artemis611, Lori)

Thank you,
Edda

Dear Betty . . .
If you can find her screen name as Edda suggested, I'd love to go back and look at old posts. It sounds, from what you say, that she is doing very good and much-needed work.
Actually there was a time here in the US when they stopped offering water in restaurants. I think it was back in the '80's but can't be sure. You could have it if you asked, but it was not offered. I think there was some kind of water shortage. It could have been local, but I think it happened to me in completely different areas of the country. The exact memory is a little fuzzy.
Blessings to your day too.

Jude, you are 100% right on the Artemis part and Edda is totally correct in signing the "611". Sparrow, if you look up posts from Artemis 611, you will get to know Lori, a very special person. Enjoy.

Dear Betty and Jude. . .
Thank you for providing Lori's screen name. I will do some research.
But until then I will keep Lori in my thoughts and prayers while she is away on retreat, and hope that she returns refreshed and inpspired.
