'Guitar Mediations'

another senior moment! Of course it should read 'Guitar Meditations'

Perhaps if I copy Billy McLaughlin and start doing things left-handed it might help the brain.

I was walking home from school on a cold winter day.
Took a shortcut through the woods, and I lost my way.
It was getting late, and I was scared and alone.
But then a kind old man took my hand and led me home.
Mama couldn't see him, but he was standing there.
And I knew in my heart, he was the answer to my prayers.

Oh I believe there are angels among us.
Sent down to us from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours.
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give.
To guide us with a light of love
.

When life held troubled times, and had me down on my knees.
There's always been someone there to come along and comfort me
.
A kind word from a stranger, to lend a helping hand.
A phone call from a friend, just to say I understand.
And ain't it kind of funny that at the dark end of the road.
Someone lights the way with just a single ray of hope.

I think I may have put this here before but I am not sure.I know this song is
very special to many people.

The road seems so dark at times but light will always shine through no matter how dark
it  seems.

Warm and gentle hugs to all xxx

Dear Jude . . .
Thank you thank you thank you
for this . . .
what a beautiful soul
comes out in Billy McLaughlin's music.
I am stunned.
His music does truly speak to me . . .
Do you know what album "Church Bells" is on?
(I have Amazon open in another window.)

Speaking of Left vs. Right brain . . .
I have mentioned this book before:
"A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future"
by Daniel Pink.
Us left-handed people
used to be tried as witches   . . .
left-handed people were considered evil.
Left handed people are operating out of the right brain.
Right handed people, out of the left . . .
Right brain is in charge of creativity, intuitiveness, spirit . . .
Left brain is in charge of logic and active thinking.
The bottom line I think,
is that we all need balance between the two,
but it is time I think,
to give the right-brain a little more credit than we have in the past.
If you google Jill Bolte Taylor
you will find some more very interesting
and fascinating things,
and will be quite surprised I think.

Thank you too, dear Sandra . . .
I had never heard this before . . .

The road seems so dark at times but light will always shine through no matter how dark it  seems
We all need to remember this
with love . . .

Sparrow, I'm sure this will be on Amazon, but I've just found this on his list of Albums. It seems to be his latest.

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Whether you're rich or whether you're poor
It matters not to Him
He remembers where you're going
Not where you've been

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

If your heart is troubled
Don't worry, don't you fret
He knows that you have heard His call
And he won't forget

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

All around the world tonight
His children rest assured
That He will watch and He will keep us
Safe and secure

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They're all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world

Do you know Jesus does love all the children ,so does this not tell us it's wrong so wrong not to see such beauty in this world.

Thank you Jesus thank you

Well this forum really is a gift from God/Jesus
I came on here tonight feeling sad but
and after reading and writing posts
I feel the sun again..

Thank you ...this song fits my mood for now

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZtQh5EIgWQ

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right
It's all right

I think we all know what we were doing on this very sad day.

Something postive has come out of something so tragic..we have opened our eyes to violence

and please God we will one day be at peace with each other please God

I say God because I feel he has power within us he must have
he must have...

"Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)"

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
Out in the yard with your wife and children
Working on some stage in LA
Did you stand there in shock at the site of
That black smoke rising against that blue sky
Did you shout out in anger
In fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry

Did you weep for the children
Who lost their dear loved ones
And pray for the ones who don't know
Did you rejoice for the people who walked from the rubble
And sob for the ones left below

Did you burst out in pride
For the red white and blue
The heroes who died just doing what they do
Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer
And look at yourself to what really matters

I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day
Teaching a class full of innocent children
Driving down some cold interstate
Did you feel guilty cause you're a survivor
In a crowded room did you feel alone
Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her
Did you dust off that bible at home
Did you open your eyes and hope it never happened
Close your eyes and not go to sleep
Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages
Speak with some stranger on the street
Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow
Go out and buy you a gun
Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watching
And turn on "I Love Lucy" reruns
Did you go to a church and hold hands with some stranger
Stand in line and give your own blood
Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family
Thank God you had somebody to love

I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell you
The difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

The greatest is love
The greatest is love

Where were you when the world stopped turning that September day

God rest them all each and everyone of them

gone but never forgotten not ever you rest in the hearts

of so many ..so many .....

I have been very moved and touched by this musician who is now one of the finalists in Britain's Got Talent.
His soul comes through his saxaphone playing.

"Nature Boy"

There was a boy...
A very strange enchanted boy.
They say he wandered very far, very far
Over land and sea,
A little shy and sad of eye
But very wise was he.

And then one day,
One magic day he passed my way.
And while we spoke of many things,
Fools and kings,
This he said to me,
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn
Is just to love and be loved in return."

And then one day,
One magic day he passed my way.
And while we spoke of many things,
Fools and kings,
This he said to me,
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn

Re:music that speaks to me... - 6/17/2009 4:31 PM ( #80 )
Here I am again searching and I found this ....

[link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dqk53sAxLmg&feature=related]http://www.youtube.com/...xLmg&feature=related[/link]

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart

Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are

I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
Vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours

Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me

Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are

I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
Vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours

Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are

I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
Vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours

I am Yours
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
'Cause I am Yours
I am Yours

Gosh the words to this song really makes me think..

when I came to this bit....

I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow

it just made me realize life is so precious it really is....

and as for the fear bit Betty popped something in about fear

in a post a good while back and I can't seem to find it now.

It was simple but powerful but as usual I found it but lost it again
The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love~and be loved in return♥♥
