Ahhhh! Sparrow....the lovely John Denver and Annie's Song. Brought tears to my eyes. I agree with your comment.
 
Away from the romantic aura....I have a funny story attached to this song. I bought the single of it when my children were about 5 and 3 years old, and my Son, the 3 year old, loved to sing it.
His words were....
 
"You fill up my senses, like a lady blue motion"
 
and his sister interrupts with,
 
"Ocean, C.... Ocean!!"
 
I have them on tape and it still makes me laugh.

I have such wonderful memories of John Denver
God rest his soul....
I went to see him three months before his life was taken
he really blew me away
he sat on the stage with his guitar and played and played
in fact he played all three of these meaningful songs
he did not stop for a break ,he touched every heart that night
I am sure...
his music lives on as does his spirit
 
 
Thank you ladies for reminding me of these most
precious memories...

I guess it's easy for me to say here in Britain, where we don't seem to get extremes of weather anymore,or even any definite seasons, but if we didn't have the wind and the rain and the snow, we wouldn't appreciate the sun!

there are so manyt different ways that music speaks to me, and many songs that cause this.  for example the faith hill song we had mentioned before helps me to remember that my babies were perfect and how much i love them like the love thqat is in the lyrics.
 
being a musician of sorts anyway, it is not just a particular piece that speaks to me.  it is the key, and the feeling put into the tune instead of someone which plays to show his or her technical ability in a competition for exmple.  and when i played the piano in particular although i play others but the piano helped me to experience how to put my feelings into the way i play.  for excample if i was angry i could belt out an angry tune and it is a method of releasing that pent up emotions.  or with the song you raise me up reminds me He is there with me soothing me etc.
 
dont know if this makes any sense but i have tried to put it clearly.
