Thank you so much to the people who created the
Light-A-Candle website. It's helped me alot.Especially
when I don't have money to go and purchase a candle at
the store. I have lit so many candles in the past and I feel
safe know the candle is lit and that God knows that they
are everytime I say a prayer for those people or my thoughts that those lit candles symbolize.Again,Thank You!

Welcome Happy Face
I also have enjoyed the candles and lighting them as the symbolism of our spiritual guides whoever we may call them lighting our souls always brings me such comfort I hope you continue to meet others here.
Namaste and peace

Is there a way to remove an offensive candle from my group?

This is the one I'm referring to:

Dolfy
what is the title of your candle group? I feel compelled to pray for you ,your group and the person who posted this message. While I believe everyone has the right to express their beliefs and have them we can still pray for others.

On occasion offensive candles do need to be removed. You can e-mail the staff at the website here and ask  to consider doing so. I am so sorry that you have such a candle in your group. The signature on this candle pretty much tells you that it comes from someone in need of prayers as Barbara says.

With every good wish,
Edda

I understand that there is a GROUPS function of course, to find groups.  It just gives you the chance to view candles already lit.  However, is there a place/list that says what each group is for?  There are plenty of names and initials, but nothing that says what the group is connected to.  Is there any way to find out?  Also the initial GROUPS page only lists the top 100.  How do you see more?  Thanks for your help.

Joni, I am not aware of any list for all the candle groups that also provides information as to why the group was started. However, the reason for groups started by members who post in the forum, can usually be learned from their posts. Also, if you read the messages attached to the candles you can often find out why they were lit.

I hope this helps a little,
Edda

It is the first time that I have used this site, and I think it is lovely. However, I was really sad to see that someone calling themselves 'rbw' has lit so many candles on my candle group for 'Madeline.' Although the sentiments are very sweet, it is distressing as I started my group to remember the brother of a friend who committed suicide very recently. It seems tactless at best to use the group to post messages about somehting else. does this happen a lot?

Dear Milli,
I'm sorry you feel upset and I can understand you want the candle site just for your brother's friend.

However, I think the important thing is that candles are lit, and where ever they are lit they will still be seen and our prayers be heard.

Blessings, Jude

Welcome to the forum, Milli!

I am sorry you feel upset about other candles being lit in your group. It is a good idea to check and see if there is already another group by the name we want to use. Perhaps someone else did not check first. I don't think people intentionally "invade" groups others have started but it happesn, I believe unintenionally, ever so often.

My deep sympathy to your friend who lost a beloved brother under such difficult circumstances.

Wishing you everything good,
Edda

P.S.  I found most of the candles lit by "rbw" in a group called "Maddy", which I believe is an old group for the little girl who has been missing. What is the name of your group?

Hi Edda,

my group is listed simply as 'Ff.' I am sure you are right and that it is a mistake. Its only the sensitive nature of it that makes the other candles difficult - if you see what I mean?

But, a candle is a candle and beautiful of its own accord.

Dear Milli, thank you for your understanding! And I quite understand that you would rather have your group for your intention alone. I just lit a candle for your friend in your group. I can't explain how how these other candles get into in your group.

Have a good weekend,
Love, Edda

Hi, I'm new to this site, and would like to say THANK YOU so much for setting up a lovely site like this for people to light candles for their loved ones. I have lit 2, and I'll be coming by every day to say a prayer for my Nain and Taid.

Love Charlie xxxx

Dear Charlotte, Welcome to the forum. I am sorry I haven't welcomed you sooner. I seldom look at the posts which are marked in bold type with the word Top and I am quite sure that is why there have been no responses to your post. If you click on the rounded rectangle "new post" above and to the left of the word "Top, it will begin a new thread which perhaps you could call "Candles for Nain and Taid" in the subject line. Please do come back often. This is a very warm group of very caring individuals here who would most willingly join you in your candles of Nain and Taid>
Shalom(May you be at peace in Body, Mind,& Spirit.)
