Dear Jen,
I too heard this story on the UK news. Very shocking that people are so selfish in their rush to save a few cents they will trample others to death.
I intended lighting a candle last night, so thank you for reminding me.

I think people in the US have started going into survival mode with the way the economy is. How heartbreaking about the employee. There was also a shooting in a Toys r Us of all places! Our society is in desperate need of healing. I will light a candle prayerfully reflecting on that.

In the UK on TV they have just started a new version of the 'Survivors' fictional drama about the few people who survive a worldwide epidemic, and I think we hope we would not behave as they do in the drama, and as they are in shops just now, but the awful truth is many of us would.
I too will light another candle for the healing of the hearts of mankind, and for us all to be mindful of each other.

Dear Jennifer,
Thank you for your thoughtful post! I will light a candle for the employee who died in the stampede and those injured. It is sad that it has come to this, people so desparate to get a bargain that they lose all concern for those around them.

THIS IS A SAD STORY. I WILL LIGHT A CANDLE FOR HIM AND HIS FAMILY. THE SAME THING HAPPEND HERE IN THE STATED TOO. WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO THAT WE WOULD RATHER HURT A PERSON OVER A MATERIAL THING?
