candles for peace in 2009 - 1/1/2009 7:16 AM ( #1 )
After praying for peace, consider it a spark of peace needing nourishment and protection in order to survive and shine into the universe.  Put it inside your heart, sheltered against the things that destroy peace and make a vow to this tiny flame.  Care for it as you would for your newborn child.  Let your breath keep the flame glowing and let your actions reflect it into the world.  Wherever you go, offer to share this Light, allowing the flame you carry to be lit inside another heart.  That way we all take responsibility for peace.  When we all remember we must be the peace we wish to see, peace will increase in the world.

Consider a dark night, clouds hiding the stars.  We can be the clouds or we can be the night of stars, knowing the stars are always there.  Yes, wish upon the stars, but peace asks and allows us to make this wish come true.

Do not consider your efforts ineffective.  Think instead of the spark you created in prayer as it passes from one to the next.  Peace is something we all own and it is something we all need to pay forward.  Once enough of us do that, our efforts will create a new world of lovers and friends versus enemies and strangers.

Be the Light; Light a candle of peace in PEACE at gratefulness.org.  Be sure to enter your country or state so we have another piece of evidence that the desire for peace exists throughout the world.  Yet do the next thing, let the flame be a symbol and your deeds be the reality of peace in the world.

Dear Kriann,
That was a beautiful post you wrote.

I especially like this part,

"After praying for peace, consider it a spark of peace needing nourishment and protection in order to survive and shine into the universe."

Peace is indeed a very delicate seed which needs our protection and care to ensure it's growth.
