Kriann, I have also lost two fur friends this year and I know your pain. It will lessen but rest assured that your memories and your love of your beloved Sport will keep him alive always.

Best wishes,

Dinah

I am so very sorry that you lost your beloved companion Sport! Our four-legged companions are real family members, so it is a death in the family.
We lost our cat Buali many years ago, but his picture is still on the sideboard. We love to tell stories about him.

Welcome to the forum, Rusty!

As we can see from your compassionate response to Kriann, you, too, are an animal lover like so many in these forums.

I hope you will visit often and tell us more about yourself, and share with us your wisdom and experience.

Wishing you everything good,
Edda
Peace and joy!

Dear Kriann, Your post touched my heart. Our animals are so precious, they are like our family. I will light a candle for you and Sport. You may like a website I came across called
http://www.daisysutra.com/Tall_Tail/tall_tail.html. It is by a wonderful lady called Helen Weaver who lost her dog, Daisy. The website has several pages, but the one page that got to me was the one that said that Daisy was in spirit and was looking after those who were lost. I got Helens book, and gave one to our library here in Ellesmere Port, and wrote for another copy, that I gave to a neighbour who lost their dog. Sadly I never got that book back. I cried buckets when I read the book, but although it does make you cry, it also touches your heart because of the books tale(or tail!) that our animals go to spirit too, that they can have jobs, that also they can come back to us, in a different form of another animal. I know not everyone believes in this, but it has given me comfort to know that animals are okay once they do pass over. I would give anything to go at the same time as my Jackory, I dont want to be parted from him at all, he is a rock to me and brings love and a whole lot more, so my heart does go out to you Kriann. I am off to say a prayer for your friend now. Do look after yourself and know that somewhere, sometime, when you are ready, you may just hear in the distance that faint bark that lets you know your Sport is thinking of you

Gina, that's lovely. I may have written this here before, but you reminded me of a dream I had shortly after the passing of one of my much loved cats. I dreamed he had come back to life. In the dream I knew he was dead, but I saw him and heard his voice as clear as if he had been in the room with me. He 'told' me that he was well now and putting weight back on.
I believe he really did come back to tell me he was OK.

Dear Kriann . . .
I have been unable to come to the forum much, so did not see your post until this morning. I am so very sorry to hear about your beloved dog, Sport. As others have said, 'our' animals are family members, and it is with much pain and sorrow that we must let them go.
I do think that animals face death with much less fear than we mere humans . . . they understand the cycles much better than we. I often still see several of my cats in my dreams, and always wake up feeling as if I've had a little visit.
I hold you in my heart, and with much reverence for the very powerful bond of love that you had and will always have with your dear Sport. You loved him well and he you, and for that you can rejoice.
with much love to you dear Kriann . . .
