new from upstate ny

hello i'm mandy, and i'm from upstate ny. we lost both of my grandpa's, my mom's dad passed away in 2006, and my dad dad's passed away in 2007. and we miss them both. and we hope to meet again someday.
 
i'm also married to a wonderful man. i hope to make friend's that are having hard times like me

I am so sorry for your losses! Grandparents are such special people, I can understand that you miss your grandfathers. I am sure you also have many good memories of them.
 
You will meet her many people who go through hard times for various reasons, and also a lot of loving, caring ones who are always ready to listen to you. I hope you will visit often and tell us more about yourself!

Mandy, Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry to hear about both of your grandpas. My grandpa (my mom's dad) also died in 2006. I do miss him but I was never able to spend lots of time with any of my grahdparents because they always live in another state than we did. I always wanted to be able to spend more time with my grandparents but I guess it was just not to be. My thoughts are with you. Please know that they're some womderful people on here that have been through so many things but yet try to help other people. I shall always treasure the friends that I have made on here. I hope that in the future you will be ale to feel the way I do. Please know that we are here for you and that you are in my thoughts. I will light a candle for you in the "All" group.

I can understand how you miss you Grandfathers. I would suggest you write down all your memories of them, for yourself and future generations.
 
I have missed both sets of my Grandparents all my life, because they died before I was born, and I am so jealous of my older siblings' memories of these special people.
 
Come back and tell us some more about yourself if you would like to.

Dear Mandy, welcome to the forum, am sorry to hear about your grandparents. I lived with my nan and grandad, and although I dont remember much of my grandad for some reason I have lots of memories of my nan, and I have to admit when i am stuck on something I ask her for her help although she died about twenty years ago now.
my new grand daughter reminds me of her for some reason which is nice and it is very odd but my daughter was going to call her lillyanna, and my nans name was lilly.... also the odd thing is that my son in law, when he gets my daughter flowers, always buys her lillies, and not roses,....

I too am from Upstate NY (the Hudson Valley region). i too have lost my grandparents and my parents. and I too have gone through hard times. I also seek new friendships all the time. One can never have too many friends! The people at these forums are so warm and welcoming and supporting; I am sure you will find comforting words here like the ones above mine and the ones that will follow for sure :)
