He was doing the same as Lumpi sometimes is doing - to drink from the faucet...
It was not my utterance before I heard it, but it is now:
Cats are philantropists, they look for people ... not people are looking for them.
(It would ever be advisable to close the toilet lid).

Thank you, Jude! This cat reminds me of several neighbors' cats who would come to our house and feel right at home. There was one cat, Eddie, who would arrive at our house before we were up. Not being able to ge access at the front door, he would climb up a hawthorne tree and come knocking at our bedroom window. Of course, we opened it to let him in!

This is one of my cats........long gone now though. I'm sure I have a photo somewhere of Apple with her head down the toilet!! Cats have this fascination with water which isn't in their water bowls. Sunny will jump into the bath after someone has just had a bath, just to lick the water off the bottom of the bath!!!
Please note, Isabella, the adjoining toilet seat is down!!
It's the men who leave them up.

Last night I had a fight with Photobucket...but I lost!
This morning they've let me in!

seems your cat is doing like Lumpi
Many times - even when I´m doing my home work, I have to carry her in my right arm and can do the work with the other one... Some times this can be really hard and work needs a lot of time more.
It´s also interesting for me, how I can read sometimes all the posts from here;basically she walks in front of the PC, so I have to stretch my nack or took under her tail or tummy - she can be very stubborn...

Thank you for Simon's cat. It always makes me laugh!
 
Blackberry likes to sit on my lap as I type, and gets in the way. He gets annoyed at my elbows going up and down!!
He likes watching tv, but I'm sure he is puzzled as to why I sit in front of a computer screen.
Cats always want to be the centre of attention.

Blackberry is very good. He waits until he's sure I'm properly awake and then he comes and sits on my chest and looks at me.
 
I'm not sure if Simon is British. I wouldn't be surprised as the catoons seem very British. I'll have to do some research.
