War in the Gaza strip - request for prayers
-
1/15/2009 5:18 AM
My best friend's only brother Marco lives in Israel and is a reservist. Due to health problems he's not been involved up till now in the war, but you never know. He's 38, I've known him since he was little more than a newborn. Whatever your feelings on what is happening over there, please think of the many who have to watch without being able to help. Thanks, happy new year to everyone, Chiara

Dear Chiara . . . War is never, never the answer. My heart breaks for the people suffering on both sides of this battle and the news is worse every day. I pray for peace in Israel and Palestine . . . that some day wisdom will win over greed and hatred. I also pray and light a candle for the innocents who are at the mercy of those in power, including your friend's brother, Marco. Thank you for sharing this with love . . . sparrow

Dear Chiara, A blessed New Year to you, too! The events in Gaza are disturbing and heart-breaking. I join you and all the others in praying for peace between Israel and Palestine. I'll light another candle in the "peace" group. With love and every good wish to you, Edda

Hi Jude, Thank You! It's good to be able to to spend time here again although I have been thinking about everyone. It's been quite hectic for me with one thing and another and I just felt I was not in the "right space" to be here as I would be a prolific post writer on " Today I am Gratefully Challenged" which would not be good! I hope things are well with you Namaste Glenys x

Dear Glenys, I'm sorry things have been hectic for you and hope you are feeling a bit more settled now. I read about your shared caring for your mother. Never an easy thing to make decisions about. Will be thinking of you. And we don't mind if you want to visit the Gratitude Challenged Forum. Blessings, Love, Jude

Yes, please let's pray for peace in Gaza and everywhere, but let's also try to do something about it -- petitions, letters, whatever you can do. I attended a lecture today by a physician showing statistics, photos and videos about what's been happening in Gaza -- he is in touch with his colleagues at the hospitals there -- and it is so much more worse that I could have imagined. So many children being hurt in unspeakable ways. Medicine waiting at the borders but being prevented from going in. I have a Jewish husband, and he's just been sick to his soul about what's been happening. The level of human suffering right now is unbelievable. This is not the road to peace, a peace we all wish for in the Holy Land. Please help with your prayers, your actions, and by staying informed from a variety of sources. Thank you, and may peace begin with each one of us.

Dear Beverin, Your so right and the saddest thing of all is all those who are killed are the innocent people who got caught up in what should never ever of happened. They are aiming missiles at schools, villages hospitals etc when they know full well what heartache and destruction they are causing. Mothers carry these children and to see them fighting and dying is beyond any pain I could ever feel. It’s not the road to peace and I just hope with all of my heart that things will change. I can only pray and I am not sure if my prayers will be heard right now, but I will light a candle for peace for all as well. Sandraxxxxx
