How nice to find a cup of (hot!) tea waiting! Thank you, Sandra! (In my country of coffee-drinkers the tea i am offered by people is hardly ever kept hot ... But it has to be, doesn´t it? Are tea-cosies still in use in Britain, I wonder? I had one given to me by an English friend. When Austrians see it, they will ask, "What funny cap is this?"  )

to all of you! Snow has fallen overnight, so we need some warmth of a flower.

Good Morning Juliana

to all of you! Snow has fallen overnight, so we need some warmth of a flower.

good heavens above! it has started to get cold here but not that cold

I shall indeed send you a flower to warm you up .

Yes you can buy tea-cosies but I would never need one as I drain the tea pot within seconds

wrap up warm and enjoy your hot tea

Hello Juliana,
Sadly, since the invention of the tea-bag, teapots are hardly every used, let alone a tea-cosy.

Long heavy rain showers are the order of the day here. the sun was shining when I awoke, but now it's "as dark as a hedge" as my cousin June would say.

Ah, Juliana . . .
you bring back memories.
My mother had an absolutely gorgeous teacozy
when I was a girl.
It was a Czechoslovakian peasant lady
with heavy quilted 'skirts'.

Coffee for me . . .
No one uses teapots anymore?
I have four or five of them!
Sometimes it is teabags,
but mosttimes it is a teaball in the pot!
I even have my great-grandmother's china pot
that has a big metal thing that sits inside
which is where you put the loose tea.
When my mother was visiting her grandmother,
she thought she would be kind
and scrub out the teapot.
My great-grandmother was horrified,
as she never washed the teapot with soap!
Blessings to all
no matter your choice of beverage
with love . . .

Re:Hello - 11/3/2009 9:02 AM ( #2468 )
Thank you Buba and Sparrow, I will join you in a cup of tea.

I have 3 teapots in the house, but they hardly ever get used. I like my tea-bag just 'waved' in the hot water. "Good water spoiled" as a dear long-gone relative once said to me. so it hardly seems worth getting out a teapot. I do use a very small one to make fresh herbal tea.

It does seem a shame that the tea ritual, of teapot and china tea-cups and saucers has all but disappeared.

Sparrow, I once got told off for washing out an elderly relative's teapot. I think it was a silver one.

Hello ladies. I thought I would stop by the cafe today. I brought my own cup of coffee, I hope you don't mind. I need a coffee break, housework ugh, and the company is good here!

Juliana, snow???? Oh so pretty but don't send it here yet, please.
It is a beautiful sunny day here, around 55 and blue skies. I brought some sunshine for everyone.

The outdoor cafe is by me today on my side of the world today since the weather is good. Come on over, I have a teapot, never used but ready. We can sit and chat a while. Everyone is welcome, Buba bring some of your delicious home made goodies, please.

No! not here either. Today has been colder, but still very mild for November. Heavy showers and sunshine in between.

Thank you Marie for the sunshine and outdoor cafe....such fun! I will pretend I am drinking tea there in the sunshine.

Dear Marie,

Thank you for the invitation. We, too, have a sunny sky, but the temperature is still in the 40s! I'll bring my cup of coffee along  and join you in the sun!

Hi Jude. At least you have the sun in between the rain, that's good. We have had quite a bit of rain lately and the past few weeks some very early in the season cold weather. There have been a few outdoor fall festivities of lately and it was wise to layer and bundle with warm fur boots, and that was not enough to stay warm. It was in the 30's this morning and frost on the grass. Brrrrr!!! Almost time for the parka, (heavy thick coat lined with fake fur), almost looks like a bear coat, but hey it is so warm, despite the funny looks and comments. LOL. Really.

Hi Edda. You are so very welcome to come on over. I have much to do today I should be doing but the sun has me delaying the work. In the 40's? You are not so very far away from me. I think I am closer to the sun, but not all that far from you, but you have the lake winds.

How is Leon doing? You are both in my prayers and my candle burns in my kitchen on the stove for you both.

Have they started to decorate the windows downtown for Christmas? It may be an idea for a train ride down there. I wouldn't mind the snow then, passing the shops while it is gently, I said gently snowing, and admiring the pretty windows and decorations. Get the gollashes ready. LOL

Hi Sandra, come on over. Christmas lights in London! Oh I wish I was there to see that. It would be nice to experience Christmas all over the world. Having been to London, it is a a very friendly friendly beautiful place, you have alot of scenery there and the awesome castles, and Buckingham Palace. The flower gardens outside of Buckingham Palace were so extravagent. I have a photo somewhere. So majestic. See Sandra you took me there with the ligthing of the Christmas tree in London. Do they put lights on Big Ben? I remember the boat ride on the river past Big Ben. Although I had not walked the countryside, only viewed it from the bus window.

So Buba is bringing the nuts. Yes I see Buba has been busy getting the nuts. Can we roast them outdoors and lightly sprinkle them with salt? They say nuts are brain food, really I had a doctor tell me that, I did not know that. Welll I like them anyhow. LOL.

Hi Sandra, come on over.
Thank you but can't you see I am there already

Marie

It would be nice to experience Christmas all over the world.

This is possible if people snap the christmas season in the beauty thread. That's the beautiful thing we all can visit each others world.

It seems you have been a happy busy bee on your travels.I have to confess I am not sure they do put lights on big ben maybe I will pop some on him this yearThe countryside is beautiful over here and it's a place that fills me with peace and sore fingers from snapping

as for the nuts I guess they are good brain food as they have natural oils in them.I think Edda would know better than me though

and salt is bad for you young lady
