Dear Betty,
There's not much worse than a  that's taken up permanent residence! I hope it decides to move house soon. Don't be doing too much work yet. I will join you by the fire as I love a real fire, and I'll bring you some lemon and honey with maybe a dash of the hard stuff

Dear Sandra,

You are absolutely priceless -  is this the right word for expressing my admiration, saying you are unique? You have me LOL with your picture of the birds, only one of which is exercising, dangling its legs...

You see, sitting in a rockingchair isn´t fun if one has no open fireplace to sit in front of
. (They are not common in my part of the world).

You are absolutely priceless - is this the right word for expressing my admiration

we have many words in this country that describe moi let me share them with you ....clueless,dippy,dim actually the list is bottomless so I had better draw the _____

ah but you do have a fireplace see! and a rocking chair that you refuse to sit in

I am pleased I made you laugh it must be catching !

ps I am surprised openfires are not popluar where you live what with all that snow.I once went skiing in Austria and it was very very cold but such a beautiful part of this big old world.

Re:Hello - 11/6/2009 7:17 AM ( #2567 )
Guten morgen
Dobro jutro
Good mornng . . .

I see you all have been having great fun.
Perhaps I go to be too early
or rise too late!
I have two fireplaces,
but neither one works . . .
otherwise I should love to sit by a fire . . .

Ah, dear Buba . . .
I should like to sit by your warm stove as well.
A good place to warm the feet
while indulging in one of your baked breads . . .

perhaps something with nuts?

Edda,  you make me tired already,
especially to think
of dragging those heavy ramps around!

Good for you, dear Juliana!

Now I can picture you even better
doing your Nordic walking in the alps!
What lovely scenery . . .

Jude dear,

you must have much time on your hands
to be scouting away over google,
finding pictures for us all!
I do think that as you say,
the more active you are,
the younger you feel.
When I sit at my desk or table all day,
I am much more tired and less engergetic
than when I am physically active
for at least part of the day.

Yes dear Betty,
this is a Friday that is really a Friday
and a weekend that is really a weekend--
finally!
I hope that your cold and/or flu
has finally left you,
and that you are finally feeling better.

Not to worry, Marie . . .

you shall get the hang of it before long.
Beyond our various and different names
we are all birds of a feather . . .

I love the bright little shining eyes
and the crooked smile
on your Teddy,
dear Isabella . . .
he looks ready for a cuddle.

no fau paux . . .

and last but not least,
My dear Bright Spirit . . .
you certainly have us all hopping.
If the exercise doesn't keep us young,
laughter will!

A happy Friday to all of you birds
with love and laughter . . .
sparrow

everything counts...

Re:Hello - 11/6/2009 8:08 AM ( #2568 )
Good morning ladies, I am glad it is Friday!!! Everyone is so busy in the cafe coming and going. It is good to stay busy, it does keep you young as the discussion here goes. My Grandma is 96 and has never been in a rocking chair while at her own home, nor my dear Mom, she runs with all her activities. We teach children to have a certain respect while they are growing up to their elders, and it is earned for those beyond our years who have Blessed our lives, never would I think of them as old, just wiser and so very full of love for having taught us as Mothers and Grandmothers. To the young wisecrackers, who like the old, are getting older but not wiser, it takes time and experience. Perception of young and old is different for everyone, it is what is in your heart and your intentions. I do not see people as young or old but as I said it is perception of young or old, or those that are young and fear getting older.
My thought over coffee this morning. Have a good day dear ladies.

Betty I am happy to see you have started your holiday planning. Please scan in a picture of your treats. And I hope too that Jude can get more holiday photos.

Juliana thank you for the welcome back. I have a picture of your mountains dancing in my mind.

ilisparrow I also have two fireplaces and have never used them. I don't burn in them because of the little pops that may come out with the youngin. I am happy Betty has provided us with with this warm fire. So cozy.

Have a good day and we are Blessed to have one another ladies.

It will indeed

Dear Marie thank you for your 'food for thought' this morning..

Perception of young and old is different for everyone,

It is indeed and although I do feel 'old' it's not something 'I fear' .I have become grateful that I have been given the chance to reach my age because sadly many others don't

Wisdom does come with age as it's slowly sinking into me...

a peacefilled weekend to you all

I'll do my best dear Marie, but I've already been told off This morning for spending too much time on Google Images. by a certain bird who shall be nameless.....

Juliana, priceless IS the right word for Sandra. The alternatives she offers are NOT synonyms!!

Marie, to me age is a number not a description of how one feels or acts.
It would be nice to be able to combine the energy and enthusiasm
of the young with the wisdom of those who had a chance to acquire more experience.

Edda
Peace and joy!

Sparrow :
I must confess, dear Marie,
that I have done the same thing.
On more than one occasion
Buba has sent me a quick pm to tell me of my mistake,
so I could go back and edit
before Sandra caught me.

Dear Sparrow, I was reading some old posts today
and found out ( and remembered when I saw it )
you used to call Sandra Sharon ...

P.S.
Sandra how many days until Christmas ?????
