I am a newbie and I just love this site. today is the fifth anniversary of my sister in law Maria. what a nice way to remember her.
 
However, I opened a group in the name of "maria" but there was five candles opened. did I do anything wrong?

You didn't do anything wrong when you opened the group for 'Maria.' If you would like to have one just for your Maria I suggest you call it something else, but there is no harm in sharing someone else's candle group.
 
I hope to hear some more of your wisdom and thoughts.

As to starting a candle group to honor your sister-in-law, apparently someone else has already used that name. When starting a new group it might be best to put the intended name into "search" to see if a group by that name already exists. It is not unusual to find candles intended for someone else in a group. As Jude says, if you prefer a group of your own you need to choose another name. A combination of letters and numbers (total of five) often avoids duplication.
