Thank you Sparrow.  When our three policemen were killed at their Memorial Service they had pipers from quite a few places and the pipers from New York had the honor of piping them into and to the front of the Church.  It was very emotional for everyone
Then God sent the Greyhound to live among man and remember.
And when the Day comes, God will call the Greyhound to give
Testament, and God will pass judgment on man.

I get very emotional any time I hear the pipes.  I love the music and let the tears flow

Testament, and God will pass judgment on man.

Dear Beryl,
Music can be very useful like that, can't it? Tears generated by music can be very cleansing.

I too love the pipes. The Irish pipes can easily bring on tears for me. They hit the spot!!

This is what a Lutheran Minister who is a friend told me when we were discussing "All Through The Night"

The tears are a good thing, grief is a process and takes a while.  Be gentle with yourself!
Keep singing, even if it is a lament
Then God sent the Greyhound to live among man and remember.
And when the Day comes, God will call the Greyhound to give
Testament, and God will pass judgment on man.

I like what Pastor Richard sent me and I have a few ministers that e-mail me every so often.  Rev. Heather who called David a shepherd at his Celebration of Life, Rev. Howard who is a retired Methodist Minister and of course Pastor Richard.  Rev. Carole Seaman keeps in touch also.  It is so nice to read an e-mail from them.

Beryl, I'm pleased that you have people supporting you just now.
I agree it's good to have email connection with people. It's an instant connection with someone and makes us feel less alone.
It's also confirmation that there are a lot of good people in the world.
They obviously thought well of David.

Blessings,
Jude

I do have loving caring people they might not be beside me but are with me in spirit and that means all of you also.

Went over my daughters so that my grandsons could go swimming in their above ground pool.  I went in for a while but sat mostly on the deck.  Just got home so I have to shower to get the chlorine of my body out of my hair.  I enjoyed my time with my grandsons.  If all goes well tomorrow - I have to work and we do not get the thunder storms will do it again.  We are supposed to go up to 86 F.

Someone told me I need to get out and meet people not to spend time on the message boards.  I wonder if they have lost a spouse or a loved one to cancer.  They do not realize what messages of tlc can do for a person who is grieving.

Will go over and  spend more time at the pool with the grandsons weather permitting

Dear Beryl,

Yes is indeed a blessed company of ladies and some gents on certain threads here. Though it is good for you to also get out in the fresh air amongst your family and friends and nature of course too. Do you walk your precious greyhounds every day or just have fun having them frolic in your yard? Have you ever looked at any of the other threads there are on here. (like I am grateful and I am grateful for beauty and hello is really fun, there are many to choose from to lift you up each day) Especially for in the evenings or just quiet times when you just feel like doing something different. I think connecting to others here is one of my blessings each day. In the olden times often people were so far away from each other that the written words and friendships grew from just these responses. I believe it is a great gift we receive from connecting on the net to others all over the world. I am one that appreciates the friends I have made here and on the net in other ways. I have met many beautiful people and even exchanged phone numbers with them which is a added delight and blessing of friendship. It often makes my day when I receive a correspondance from one of them. They bring me joy and laughter! What a gift!

Peace, love and joy,
Diane

I love watching my greyhounds in the yard plus of course in the house also.  They fly upstairs when I go up or near the stairs.  I have exchanged phone numbers with some people on other boards and have called them or they have called me especially if I have not posted in some time.

My job is also a blessing I do talk to quite a few people and can go to chapel when I need to and see the chaplain.

Re:Please pray for my husband - 8/4/2009 5:30 PM
Dear Beryl,
I think good message boards, like this one, are a blessing to many, and we are so lucky, I think, to have so many ways to contact people. It certainly doesn't exclude actually meeting people in the flesh.
Some people are wary of the Internet, and I do think we have to be careful. It doesn't sound as if you are in any danger of hiding yourself away, which is what the person may have been hinting.
I think we are lucky to be able to make use of modern technology.

It sounds as if your beloved greyhounds are keeping you busy and amused!

With Love,
Jude

Dear Beryl,

People mean well and offer all sorts of advice. You yourself know best what helps you the most. From what you are telling us you are doing well staying connected with others in a variety of ways. And your greyhounds give you unconditional love!

I am keeping you in my prayers and candles lit,

Much love,
Edda

Thank you Edda - I know these people mean well but I do not think they have suffered the loss of a spouse or child.  I just go with the flow.  Social workers at work tell me I am doing well and just keep doing what I am doing.  I also have support off of people who work at the hospital also.

That is comforting to know you have many loved ones keeping a good eye on you! I am especailly glad to hear that! I too am keeping you in my prayers and thoughts. And I am glad you popped on board again to update us all here. I love the image of your greyhounds frolicking up the stairs in your home and in the yard.

Dear Beryl . . .
As Edda has said,
only you know ultimately
what is best for you,
and it sounds as if you have a good balance.
From my own experience,
friends who have no relationships
with places on the internet,
tend to be skeptical . . .
there are so many horror stories that circulate
about the evils of the internet.
Perhaps this is part of your friends' concern.
I think you are doing so very well.
Nothing will remove your loss.
Time cannot go back to 'before' . . .
but moving towards healing
with grace and wisdom,
and the love of those around you,
whether they be human or canine
will serve you well.
You are very much
in my heart and in my prayers
dear Beryl.
Thank you for sharing your grief and your joy
with us 'internet people'.
We do care
with much love . . .

I am glad that you find things to do you enjoy! As you already know, it is all about keeping a balance between the "real" and the "virtual", which has a reality of its own!
