My First Christmas in Heaven I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year. I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here. I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring, For it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing. I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart. But I am not so far away, We really aren't apart. So be happy for me, dear ones, You know I hold you dear. And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year. I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above. I sent you each a memory of my undying love. After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold. was always most important the stories Jesus told. Please love and keep each other, my Father said to do. I can't count the blessing or love has for each of you. So have a Merry Christmas and Wipe away that tear Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year I will post another one that was written by one of our senior executives for employees of the hospital where I work.
Then God sent the Greyhound to live among man and remember. And when the Day comes, God will call the Greyhound to give Testament, and God will pass judgment on man. (Persian Proverb)

In an Instant By John J. Williamson In an instant I feel the presence Of wonder and love and light. I sense that I have moved on, To a place of beauty and serenity. I am forever changed, completed In a way I could not have imagined. I see those who have come before me And they welcome me. Their words reassure me, But they need not speak, For the love in their hearts Resides in mine also. In an instant, I am one with them And they are one with me. In an instant, not the one before, Or the one to come, But this instant, I am with my creator. His presence is all around me, Engulfing me in joy and love And rapture. In an instant I know, That I am with him And he is in me. Pure love, pure peace, pure trust. His heart speaks to me, “Behold I make all things new,” In an instant. John wrote this when one of the employee's grandson was killed in an auto accident

Thank you so much this board would of been a blessing for me when Al was so sick with his cancer and then when he passed away. I did have some very caring greyhound friends on the greyhound message boards that helped me cope and they also signed his Legacy book.

David is not Al's biological father but is step father. I am glad you liked the poems. The hospital where I work is part of a large hospital group but it is a community type hospital. People walk by you with a smile or a greeting even if you are not an employee. When David went to Nuclear Medicine for a test they said you had better take care of him this is Beryl's husband. Of course that was the talk of the hospital.

Hello Beryl, I wanted to let you know I am following the posts in this thread and your husband david has amazing strength and positive attitude. Bless you for taking care of him too. I found this smiley at another forum and I am going to attempt to post it here for Al: it is supposed to be an angel smiley. Those poems are very touching and inspirational; thanks for taking the time to share them with us. How did your surgery go? I am tired so perhaps you already posted about it and I missed it? I had basal cell cancer on my scalp in 2005. So far I have been fine since then regarding my skin. I just am very careful to strictly limit how much sun I get, especially on my head. I will go now and light a candle for you and your husband. I am going to call the group D & B if the system will allow the symbol for "and".... Please know I am thinking positive thoughts for you and David. he is so blessed to have few side effects from his treatment. As I said he is a strong person! But you already knew that didnt you? take care now and make sure you both get some rest..... With Hope and Luv, Karen

Thank you Karen. My surgery is not until Friday and I will post and let people know. My basil cell was on my nose and my breast bone. Doctors were telling me it was nothing both times until I told them a little white lie that I had scratched it in my sleep and it was bleeding. The first one on my breast bone the surgeon was in shock when the report came back but with clear margins. The dermatologist told me that he would shave the one on my nose and when that report came back they were in a panic and I had to see a plastic surgeon to get it off. This doctor does not take any chances who is going to remove the ones he is suspicous of.

My dear Beryl, I am so new to this site, I am just learning how to find new posts. I just read yours today. I'm so sorry about your ordeal. I hope you and your husband are doing well. I've had my own terrible time with cancer. Statistically, I will die from cancer much earlier than I should die. However, I seem to keep landing on my feet despite the bad news and scares in between. I have experienced 2 different primary cancers, now. I was clear 9 years, then was diagnosed with a brand new one in late stage about 3 years ago. The way I handle it (and maybe you and your husband could profit some from this) is ) naturally, lots of prayer; inviting/asking networks of friends and even strangers to put you on their prayer lists; a total change of diet, and I take lots of supplements and anti-oxidants; and one of the most important things, is laughter. The more positive a cancer patient is, the better the outcome. If you notice when you laugh, really hard, there is a feeling of euphoria. This is extremely healing and is actually a release of endorphins. Please keep posting. I'd like to be a part of your journey and offer my love and prayers. I will light a candle for you and your family. Love, Angela
