Thank you for the update. I will light a candle for you both now, praying that Dave's blood cells will be high enough on the day.

Thank you - at least my pathology report came back negative today.  Dave is still active and ate a good lunch and dinner.  Is planning on another craft show Saturday.  He loves doing the crafts and selling them at these shows

what kind of crafts does he do for these shows?

We do numerous items for crafts, matching pillows and wall hangings, hanging towels, Steeler  Penguin items (we are in Pittsburgh), bibs from infant to adult, bib and burper sets plus some with flannel blankets, no sew blankets,  washable childrens cloth books, an assortment of things.  David will cut, turn, iron and quality control.  If we are making items that need glued (pins, etc) he usually does all of that.  We try to keep busy

Adding to my previous post we also do religious wall hangings and during the time my son was dying from his cancer they kept my head above water.  Especially The Last Supper, Serenity Prayer and Footprints.

On another message board for greyhounds who have cancer the moderator mentioned the Beatles song Let It Be and posted it.  I have posted it here and I do believe that it is helpful to anyone that need help

When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be. Yeah
There will be an answer, let it be.

And when the night is cloudy,
There is still a light that shines on me,
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be,
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be

Dear Beryl . . .

David will cut, turn, iron and quality control.

. . . I can see it now--you make me smile . . .
It does sound as if you both are kept very busy,
but doing such a variety of things.
I am inspired by your industriousness . . . truly.

I am amazed at how often 'Let It Be' has come up,
even among those who hold no specific religious belief.
If you look over the different forums,
you will see how this song resonates with so many . . .
It is indeed a beautiful song
filled with tenderness and comfort . . .
may we all feel the touch of the divine upon us
with love . . .

so many times a certain song will give peace to you when you are down.  sometimes semi clasical music will also give me comfort it has to do with my mood.  We are not in the midst of making Footprints wall hanging and pillow so that we have it on hand for Saturday's craft show.  I just came up her for a break and check my e-mails

yes the religious wall hangings gave me a lot of comfort when my son was so ill especially The 23rd Psalm and of  course The Last Supper.  So ironic that I made The Last Supper and I was sent My First Christmas in Heaven.  We will be leaving here around 7 am, David will come home 1 to 2 times to check on the greyhounds and then we should be home from the show between 5 pm and 6 pm

Yes, The 23rd Psalm is so meaningful.  Quite a few of those hangings and pillows have my tears on them
