I smiled today because......

When I went in India the family I care for had a celebration party for the two little ones I look after.
 
The boys were both hot and worn out by 9pm so was I so we went home with the man who drives for the family.
 
 
I popped the baby into bed and then went to the kitchen to make the big fellow a milkie drink.
 
 
I turned on the microwave and the electricty wentit was pitch back and very very warm indeed.The man that was with us said something in Indian and left the house and locked us in.
 
I said out loud 'oh no where has he gone and what is he doing?.
 
The little boy said 'don't worry Sandra he said 'he will be back in Indian!!'.
 
I laughed so much 
 
I was still worried as the place was like a sauna.
 
I had a brainwaveI lifted the baby from his cot as I knew he would have boiled in there.I then went to the fridge/freezer and opened both doors and we (all three of us) stayed there.I cuddled both boys as I did not want them to feel scared like me.
 
Obviously the little fellow had more sense than me because he said 'Don't panic Sandra breath and count to 20'.I could not stop laughing as I say this to him if ever he is worried  bless him.
 
That's how I got some of my lovely bitesbut luckly for us the man came back after 15 mins with others who gave us light...
 
This made me smile so much and I as sure I have passed on my smile to you.

Sandra, dear, I really like the idea of of this thread. Bless you for coming up with it. I smiled today because by the time we had reached
the point of restocking the pantry, we were all so tired we didn't want to move much less restock cases of flour, sugar, canned goods, etc. This group of 40, 50,and 60+ year old "kids" started making silly, gross comments about what was in the cases of canned goods. If you have ever been around 10 to 14 year old boys, you know how "sick" their comments can become about certain types of food, especially things like vegetables. By the time the pantry was restocked, we were all laughing hysterically about really gross descriptions of what the cans contained.

Betty, I love the idea of behaving like 14 year olds!! Nothing like them is there?

This morning, the look on my husband's face as the huge buffalo face stared eyeball to eyeball with him and about 8 inches away from his face, made me smile. He quietly raised the driver's side window and very very slowly drove away.

Sweetie, you have nothing to be sorry for! She is as she is, warts and all and that is good enough for the Holy One. I figure that maybe
by the time I reach 100, I may have found my identity whatever that might be. Until then, I will just be the "jack of all trades--master of
none," and the Holy One's "Little One."
As far as the buffalo, there are some within about a ten minute walk and there is a nature preserve about a 20 minute drive. We drove through
this morning and guess who forgot her cameras-- There were herds of buffalo, elk, lots of bambis and wild turkeys. The buffalos have
a tendency to just wander across the road or stop in the middle of it or go up and down and check out the cars. sometimes the elk will do the same but never the bambis. This morning, there was a pure example of what it means to "butt heads together." There were two young male buffalos literally chasing each other getting in front of each other and then butting heads together. Papa buffalo didn't seem to happy about it and was walking down the road toward them when he stopped and wanted to check our car out. Personally, I though he was kind of cute with his long beard and mop of curly fur between his horns. I mean, gee, he wasn't snorting or anything. Husband just wasn't too happy about it, especially since they
do have signs up that buffalo have been know to damage cars during mating season. It's probably good I wasn't driving because I would probably have reached out the window and tried to pet him.

Betty  It's probably good I wasn't driving because I would probably have reached out the window and tried to pet him.  Unless you are a Buffalo whisperer that may not be the best idea.   buffalo have been know to damage cars during mating season  Yes, I have run across that problem with a few men I have known.  Just to keep them away from cars during mating season.

you took the words right out of my mouth . . .
that although frightening,
tarantulas are people too.
I actually loved the tarantula Sandra posted.
Although rather scary when he descends upon the page
he looks rather friendly . . .
I also thought he looked hungry so I set before him a large feast of dead flies.
He took so long to eat them all that I had to put him away so I could move on to other things.
The cat playing with the spider on the computer screen
reminds me of my cats,
who sometimes catch the cursor in their eye on my screen,
and try to attack it.
Also, many thanks for the Loretta Laruche video . . .
she is so funny!
Our local public radio used to give away free tapes of hers
during fund-raising week.
I hadn't thought of her in while.

and two because I was going to my car to get my camera to take a photo for Buba of my cup of tea and milk.Oh and on the way back to the house I spotted this baby white feather I am 100% sure it was a gift from Goran and Little Louis I really am.... look...

Oh sandra, that is quite a feather.  I can understand why you would feel it came directly from heaven.  Sweetie, thank you for not wanting to shrink me.  although if you have a way to take a few pounds off my body, I would be interested.  I have lots of beautiful clothes that no longer fit.  And some that hug bulge too tightly.

Today I thought of you all when I was in the health food store smiling.  I usually try to smile when I am out and about. Just because thats what I want to add to the world.  But today as I was smiling I thought if Sandra and this thread and you all.

I smiled today when I saw Liliwings picture of the Baby Chick looking at the egg. Yes, I know, maybe it should be sad,
but it just struck me funny and made me smileSome of us do have a little sick sense of humor. As far as
all of your lovely, beautiful spiders, I only have one thing to say YUCK I have
never liked any type of creepy, crawly things. YUCK, YUCK!YUCK!

Sparrow, we will have to go together and pet Papa Buffalo. I am sure he couldn't possibly be as bad Liliwings men
during the mating season.

as we are all "beings" here . . .
all of us are living creatures,
and deserve the honour of their existence somewhere
(though not always in my house ).
In a way I feel that all things that share our space
have rights and privileges . . .
and so  . . .
in that sense

It was not Jimmy at all, It was a rubber egg.  Although, the chic thinks that the rubber egg came from a rubber chicken.  So the jokes on him. Still he knew it was a joke for us. Because he knew it was a rubber egg. 
 
I agree with the yuck factor on hairy large spiders.  Although I am good with smaller ones, as long as they are not on my kitchen counter or near / on my bed.  These are my arachno-limits.

I agree to a point.  I am not going to share my space with hairy spiders, snakes, mice or rats to name a few.  However I feel very strongly that outside is a shared space. And we must honor this as home to everyone. No "pesticides"  etc etc.  Although I do spray my basil with garlic and water when the japanese bettles start feeding on it.  Not because I want them to have a better meal, they do not really like garlic.  But they get to feast on my roses.

the ceiling(as you do) the little fellow was watching me so I decided to
 
do a Irish jig.He took one look at me and said   'Sandra get down from
 
there that is dangerous you could fall off and hurt yourself'.I laughed so
 
much and he said'I am not joking I am serious'.I of course had to say sorry
 
and that was a silly thing to do.He replied 'well at least you know that'.
 
He is fourgosh and I am 41I ask myself often who is the adult
