Prayers for my husband Leon

Thank you, Glenys! We are supposed to get a date for surgery tomorrow, hopefully before Christmas!
That is the good news!
 
The rides to and from the doctor, well, this should go perhaps into "gratefulness challenged". We were picked up 45 minutes late and I ran up to the office announcing our arrival. Then it took us three hours to get back home. First an hour and 40 minute wait in a chilly lobby, then a driver with a non-functioning lift, a half-hour later another one who got us to the house, but couldn't get Leon out of the car for the longest time, since his lift didn't work! We were about to call the Fire Department! All this on a rather cold day! Perhaps cars with lifts are working better in Great Britain! Better yet, not to be dependent on a wheelchair!
 
I hope your husband will find a good and satisfying job soon!

Today we were told that Leon's surgery can't be scheduled until the beginning of January which is disappointing. I suppose the silver lining is that we will be at home for Christmas and not perhaps in the hospital. Winter is already upon us, so this won't make any difference.

Dear Thankful One, thank you for your prayers and candle. Your support is greatly appreciated. Yes, we have had some very long lessons in patience. I do hope all will go well with Leon's surgery. He is so anxious to be able to walk again and sleep in his own, much more comfortable bed!

I just wondered if Leon had been able to get a date for his surgery that was likely to be kept. I hope now that the holidays are slowly coming to a close that he will be able to get his surgery. Please let us know so we can keep him in our prayers until he is back home. I lit a candle under the group Edda for you both.

Thank you, dear Thankful One, for your prayers and candle, and for inquiring about Leon's surgery. We were given the 11th of January. He is supposed to be admitted on the day before for another CT-scan and lab work since it is so difficult for us to get him to and from the hospital. Your quote is well taken. At 92 years of age hip surgery is definitely major and not without risk, but quality of life has to be considered.
