Purple Flower

Today I saw a purple flower. I couldn't tell you what type of flower it was but I can tell you it was a beautiful flower, rising up thru weeds and the dead grass. Now you're probably wondering what makes this flower so special, nothing really or maybe it was something. It just so happened I was praying on my way to work and I was at a red light thinking about my novena when I looked over and saw this beautiful hopeful flower. I say hopeful because here in Miami we are suffering from a drought and most of the grass is coompletly dry and dead, but this little flower rose out of the weeds and dead grass to make it's presence known. Moral of this story in my opinion- sometimes we feel like we are being smothered by life- whether it be work, relationships, etc- whatever it is that makes us un happy, those are our weeds. We need to rise up like the flower and make our presence known. Be hopeful that no matter what- everything will be ok.

Hi, Olga! That was a beautiful post. Yesterday, I felt so much depression. I went outside, and we still haven't cleaned up after all our awful storms here in KY. The back yard is covered with limbs and fallen branches. Yet, right on the side of my yard, the beautiful daffodils have the determination to start blooming again! It definitely made me feel better to see the beauty of those little flowers. Thanks for the lesson today. It sure perked me up! Hugs, Angela

Dear Angela, I'm glad my little post made someone smile. It's amazing how nature has a way of saying, "hey you there, stop for a second and look at me". It makes me realize that we are just part of something larger than us. I had heard about what's been going on in KY and I hope that all will be ok soon. Take care :) Olga

Dear Olga, Thank you for your story. It just shows that amid our troubles, the little things count. Jude

There is a tiny arboretum in my town which I love to visit. One time, it was the middle of winter and I found a yellow rose blooming! I've never forgotten that. There is a saint who used to make that happen. Does anyone remember which one? I can't remember and I would love to learn more about her. Flowers and birds and everything else in nature is full of such inspiration for awe. To look at a blue jay and an owl and a cardinal and a chickadee and a hummingibrd...the beauty in their design tells me God loves beauty. Alhamdulillah! with love....
