hello. I would like to ask for candles and prayers for my friend D. She is in the hospital and it might be cancer in her lung or lungs, I dont know many details yet. She is elderly and I am very close to her and its so hard to bear knowing what she is going through. Even though I just found out two hours ago I am already really nervous and worried and upset. I am not telling you about me because I want prayer for me. Just to vent my feelings  a bit. She is the one I am asking for prayers for. i am going to go start a candle group for her called D K. Please join me in lighting candles for her to not have cancer and for the doctors to be able to help her. thanks alot.

I ask that all of you again please light a candle and pray for D as tomorrow she has a lung biopsy done. The pulmonologist said the MRI's look like scar tissue (a previous one and the recent one look the same to him) but since they have to rule out cancer, hence the test tomorrow.
 
Please pray that she does not have cancer. Again the candle group is D K

D had the biopsy done yesterday and now we are waiting for the results. She said it was the easiest test so far as she did not feel anything. i am surely grateful for that!
 
I wanted to thank each of you for lighting candles. there are many burning and that makes my outlook brighter! :)

Oh I forgot to mention her other prayer request to get out the hospital a.s.a.p.! I know she needed to be there but mentally she is ready to get out. i pray for patience and serenity for her until the doctors believe she is ready too!

Well, the doctors did not get enough of a sample to biopsy it so they have to repeat the procedure UGH! And we found out if she does not have cancer then they want her to have open heart surgery! I am praying for her that no matter what happens she can keep up a positive attitude. She hates being in the hospital, as most people do, but she knows she has to be there right now.

D might get out of the hospital for awhile dependin on the results of the second biopsy (did I mention They had to repeat the procedure because they did not get enough material to biopsy the first time?). I am hoping she does get a break from the hospital for awhile before any other things are done; she sure needs one!

Hello All-
 
It is so sweet of you who are lighting candles for her. And those of you who are praying and/or hoping the best for her. D did get out of the hospital yesterday. Her son in laws car broke down on the way home so I went and picked her up and brought her to her house. thank goodness for cel phones for emergencies. She has 24/7 oxygen now and is still waiting for her test results. But at least she can take a break from the hospital and get some rest. She says there are too many noises in there to sleep well. She used ear plugs but still didnt get much sleep.
 
I will write again when we know more. She is a strong lady and will handle whatever comes her way ok. but Sometimes I wonder if she is more scared than she lets on, but if she isnt comfortable sharing all her feelings that is her choice.

Well, dear folks, I got the news last night and D does have lung cancer. it is in both lungs and she is going to go to an oncologist. But she has already said she doesnt want radiation nor chemotherapy. It is her choice. Its her body and I respect her decisions. I do not think I would undergo such procedures at her age either.
 
I will tell you this though. She is totally at peace with the news. She is very fulfilled with the life she has and plans to enjoy whatever time she has left. She is not angry or scared at all. And I truly believe her. i do not think she is putting on a strong front.
 
So only time will tell what is going to happen.
 
I may be offline for awhile except to answer emails and pms. i dont think I will have time to read the forum for awhile since my schedule will not allow it. but if you need to reach me I will check the pms and emails.
