Please Can I ask a question(S) about the new look forum ... - 5/4/2009 3:52 PM ( #1 )
Well done Web Master the new forum is  way better. I think it allows you do more if you don't get too confused that is

It's so easy now to send a pm and add them to your list.Oh and how cool that they stay on there. It makes life way easier for the likes of me.

Well it was easy before to send a pm but for me this is way simpler .

But can we have a tiny thread to ask questions as it took me 15 mins to work out how to clear my pm box.I know I am not the brightest out of the bunch

and there are a few questions I would like to ask but not sure where to pop them

sorry now to be a pain but I did start off by being nice

Well done again lads and lasses ..

Oh just a after thought did we have blank frames on the left under our names BEFORE.Now I hope I am not searching too deep but is that because our minds should be peaceful or is it because I have nothing inside my head!!

Oh and I love the fact I am the Author now I do feel clever and I am being serious

Dear Sandra,
I can't answer any of your questions because I'm one of the confused bunch!

I have to say you are good being so complimentary about the new look Forum, but you are rather letting the side down. (most of us preferred the old style..shh...don't tell anyone   )

Sandra, the youngest in the group, is very ept at using computer technology.  So, Sandra,  it is no small surprise to me that you see the advantages when I just say huhhhhhhhhhh?  while scratching my aging head.

I do believe there are many functions here that are advantageous.  Just as Windows Vista is great for people who have a good tech understanding.  They love it.  But for the others, it is confusing.  And those folks continally long for XP back on their computer.

I do think that if we can actually figure out the new new things that allow us to do more,  We will find more to appreciate.  Our comfort level will surely increase.

Personally, I am still waiting to see who gets "Reward Points" and what they have to do to get them

It is hard to be upset with anything that the webmasters do here.  Because they make a home for the gratefulness family to gather.  So any frustrations I have had from the beginning of the change were always tempered with gratitude for the cyber home they continue to provide.

Having said that, I have no clue what many of the things here mean.  And I still am having a very hard time mavagating which page is which in the taskbar when I have two windows going, one for reading the other for reply.  Especially when I have more windows open to copy and paste pictures from the web and other personal windows that must stay open.  Creates a dropdown in the toolbar that makes navagating from one gratefulness window to the other a guessing game.

I also do not know how to get to the last page in a forum through my email notification and also after having posted a message here.  I think thats a glitch which will be worked out.

Progress.  I am afraid I am confortably entrenched in the past.  Our computer wiz Sandra sees the possibilities here.  Where I just look and say huhhhhhhhhh?  Again, I am grateful to all the people cyber angels in human form who make this website possible.  Sending love light unending gratitude and some confusion, liliwings

Liliwings..... You actually know someone who loves the dreaded Vista???????????????

I haven't heard anyone say they like it, techies or no, and I'm very glad I don't have it ......yet
I know 3 techie people who purposely changed their computers now so they could have XP before it became defunct.

Are you struggling with Vista as well as the new Forum?

Like you I am still getting lost with trying to navigate between pages. I'm sure I am missing some of the posts, but I'll persevere

Jude, I heard or read that vista is great for people who know how to avail themselves of the technological advantages of it.  So I purposfully asked the woman who was helping me with my computer.  She loves finding viruses and removing them. she is a techno geek, thank God !!  she said she "cussed it for a few weeks" until she figured it out.  And now she loves it.  My "kids" also like it.  they really dont have a problem with it at all.  Some do some dont.  maybe in the UK there is a slightly more horrible version of it that makes it objectionable to all???? I still have XP thank God.  My first computer was a windows ME.  I was ready to throw it out the window.  Thats what i learned on. It was horrible.  I am very glad I do not have a vista op system.  I only hope they come out with a new and better one before this comptuer breaks.  But truthfully, Iour local junk shop has a computer section where I can buy an old computer with windows 2000 installed on it (legally), all for less than a hundred dollars.  so I will not be getting vista even if this one breaks.

Joya, yes the other forum was very easy to use.  We were spoiled.  And yes, I think we all are getting a bit more used to using this one.  So many other forums have already changed to formats similar to this.  Technology gets more advanced, I guess.  I think i need to search for my inner computer geek.  Maybe she is hanging out with me internal GPS system.

Sending love and light and my inner comptuer geek, wherever she may be,  lilwiings

I agree Liliwings, the only touble being, Microsoft & others won't support old versions with things like updates. Even essential ant-virus companies won't update to older versions. They really have us by the scruff, don't they!

Oh yes! I remember ME (we used to joke that Microsoft had built in M.E. the illness because it was so prone to problems) It certainly taught me patience, and yes, I was ready to throw it out the window at the end!

Thankful one - 5/6/2009 5:52 AM ( #10 )
Dear Thankful one I sent you a pm message but it said your box is full.
You will however get it when you clear some space .

Ladies change upsets us all at times..but another example why the new
system is better..sorry now

when I sent the pm it said box is full but it also said when box has space the pm
will be sent.. this is good news really as we all spend time losing pm' s because
of full boxes..

Sorry now to go against the grain...but sometimes it is needed

Love to all ,Sandraxx

Dear Sandra,
I hope you are right as I have just spent 2 hours replying to posts, and I'm not sure I've seen all of them. I shall never get any work done at this rate.

Still confused Jude

Dear Liliwings,
this is the most important , I agree!

Oh Buba, I do so like your gifs.  They make me laugh.  Thank you very much. I have saved them to my computer.

Samdra,  Maybe the empty picture frame is empty space that you get to fill with your hearts desire.  Noooooooooo not that cute guy whose picture you had up in aother thread    I just found your chill pill. I am eternally grateful to you for posting that here. It will be a well used image in my emails.
Thank you everyone for your love.  Thank you for who you are.   sending lots of love and light and computer geeks your way, liliwings

Now ladies I dislike to go on and on and on

believe me I am not bright at all when it comes to certain puzzling
things ie how to delete pm's or even how to preview a post.
Dear old Betty had to talk me through this and that's actually true

But do you not think today the forum seems so much easier to work
your way around it!I am sure the wiz webmaster was just waiting
until the birthday girl made her wish. When I logged on I had forgotten
the forum had changed I really did.

It's true though me thinksdon't abuse me now remember I am one of God's
children too

Sandra, I am not able to agree with you.....yet. It takes me so long and I'm finding it so stressful, I'm not enjoying the Forum at the moment. I have to keep leaving it in order to do other things, and then I can't remember if I've seen all the posts. I look at the list of posts since my last visit, and wonder if I've missed any, and I think it's clear that some of us are missing a few.
Also the pages take ages to load now....oh! it's all sent to try us (well, me anyway )

But.....I am learning the odd thing day by day...maybe there is hope.

Love, Jude
