Dear, dear Sandra . . .
So very good to see a post from you,
even though you are hurting right now.
I do understand that you are facing many challenges
even if perhaps I don't know the details.
Each time that you work your way through one,
it does make you stronger . . .
sometimes I feel that we live in 'spirals' . . .
that is, we have periods of relative calm,
sometimes even happiness,
and then a challenge arises,
sometimes quickly,
and sometimes slowly.
We make our way through our challenges
one way or another,
sometimes with wisdom,
and sometimes not so much

,
and a new calm moves in,
and so it goes . . .
The process makes me think of the verse,
"to every thing there is a season,
and a time for every purpose under heaven..."
and when the Byrds made these verses
into a song,
the image of a spiral rose up in my mind,
and that is how I have seen it ever since.
Over time
you may realize that no matter what happens,
no matter what each challenge is,
whether it be a simple cold that holds you back for a few days,
or a major hurdle to cross,
everything is going to be all right, no matter what happens. I know that it doesn't feel like it
when I am in the midst of despair and desolation,
but in retrospect,
when I look back later
(sometimes
much later)
and retrace my journey
I always, always see
that this is true.
And sometimes my greatest joy
arises from the ashes of my greatest sorrow,
and I believe that you have seen this too
in your own life experiences.
My dear Sandra,
as Edda has said,
don't hide away
when there is so much love here for you.
There is indeed a 'web of prayer' surrounding you,
and that is a sacred thing,
and not to be taken lightly . . .
candles always remain lit for you
both here and in my heart
with much love . . .
sparrow
ps. I am so pleased to hear this good news
of little James.
