It doesn't matter what you donkey's name is as long as he is headed up the mountain.

Lord, protect our troops!  A young solider in my son - Joel's unit, hung himself today.  The depression & moral in Iraq is horrible.
Please pray for out troops!

Debbie, I am so sorry about this sad news. Tell Joel to convey my prayers and sympathy to the family of this soldier. I know this is really hard on Joel as well!
With every good wish,
Edda

I too would not like this Forum to become political, but our lives are really what politics is all about. That's why I believe all churches should be involved in politics.

Emil I too think how wonderful it is that so many faiths and none are here praying and supporting each other.

I have my own personal thoughts about President Bush and Tony Blair, but try to keep away from 'blame.' They are both doing the best they can where their spiritual growth is at present, and we can pray that they are wise and humble people who will be guided to the light.

I used to laugh at my friend who used to regularly send hearts and kisses (through the ether!) to President Bush. I could not bring myself to do it, but since I read the book "The Gentle Art of Blessing" by Pierre Pradavand I can see exactly where she was coming from.

I prefer to pray for an end to all war, which means a change in the hearts of all mankind. If we all saw that every human on earth is connected, and connected to everything else on earth too, we would never want to hurt anyone or anything, as we would see how that, (being as we are connected) would hurt us too.

"Let there be Peace on Earth and let it begin with me."

Peace be in my heart,
Peace be in your heart,
Peace be in the hearts of all mankind.

David,I hope you will come back as I found myself agreeing with a lot you said.

Arow So beautifully put - thank you.

Prayers for all of the young men & women in the armed forces.
Protect them from harm. Let them know that even though we do not "support" the war.
                    We SUPPORT THE TROOPS!!
Bring them all home to the loving arms of their families.

Just a quick note of thanks to everyone at Gratefulness.org for the strength, faith, and love that this thread has/does inspire(d) in me. I've returned to it several times, and each time 'centeredness' returns.

I'm grateful to have the ability to revisit a moment in time so clearly.

J:
I know I never posted/commented, but I love the poem you left for me.

Dear Arow,
It's always good to see your post. You surely are missed, and you make a difference to a lot of lives.

Thanks for the poem comment. I have yours on my computer and often look at them. Some of them are very personal to you, but others I can relate to.

Welcome back, Arow!

Yes, you have been missed! I hope you won't make your presence so scarce in the future! I also hope you are well, especially since this dark time of the year is not your favorite season.

I have had a candle burning for you all this time in your old group  A1F!

Dear Debbie,
Your post is heart felt at this moment especially with more news this week of more lives lost, and I have spent most of Sunday comforting my daughter who is distraught because her husband is off on his second tour, an 8 month duty in Afghan early next year.

I will light a candle for  Bush too.

Dear Diane, I think you are right about sending this thought out to all the world leaders.

Dear David, Arrows and Jude
Welcome to the forum, so much depth in your postings, and much love too.

To all following this thread, There is a good definition of "peace" here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace, about it including justice, goodwill, contentment respect ect. Perhaps its not so much the words we choose but the intent when we pray that matters, and that usually is "love" which can only be a good thing. And the forum radiates love.

Gina, my heart goes out to your daughter. That was always my biggest fear...that my husband or my Son would have to go to war.

Your link about Peace is very appropriate.

Peace be in my heart
Peace be in your heart
Peace be in the hearts of all mankind

Dear Gina, I am sorry that your daughter has to be without her husband again, worrying about his safety and well-being. I pray for strength and hope for her, and safety for him.

I too, Gina, pray for the safety of your son-in-law as he prepares to go back into Afghanistan . . . again. And for your daughter as she deals with the fears and worry.
War is not the answer.

Thank you, Edda, Joya, Jude, Sparrow. Dear Debbie, I tried to pm you, I just wanted to say I am so saddened about the loss of the young man in Joel's unit. I am going to light a candle for him and for his unit in the All group. I hope that the war ends soon, and that the new President is able to bring some Blessings somehow to all involved including peace and things that the people in Afghanistan and Iraq need to become settled and united.

RE: PRESIDENT BUSH - 12/27/2008 10:26 AM ( #40 )

I've been off this site for quit awhile & it makes my heart warm with love to see all the prayers and good thoughts for our troops.
Joel made it home this past July after 18 months of hell.  Joel says it's hell on earth.  He lost 3 soldiers in this tour. 2 were wounded so bad, they went home & one death.
At present, Joel has requested a tour in Europe. A Garrison Unit that does not deploy.  He wants to spend time with his family.  Being away from your wife and children for more than a year is tough.  He has missed so much.  2 tours in Iraq under his belt.  If he is denied his request for a garrison unit, then he will be going to Afghanistan in 7 months for another year.
He needs prayers .......
I truly hope and pray with all my heart that all of our troops will be home very soon.   NO MORE WAR! NO MORE DEATH!
Families to be reunited.
I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for keeping this request going!  Blessings,   Debbie Kaye
I’ve learned....
The best sermons are lived, not preached.
I’ve learned....
Prayer is the key to all problems.
