REBALANCING AND OTHER BODY WORK - 6/10/2009 4:06 AM ( #1 )
Dear friends,

Yesterday I have been to my first 'rebalancing' session.
Information here: http://www.rebalancing.com/

"Rebalancing was developed in the 1970's by a group of long-time bodywork practitioners working under the guidance of a spiritual teacher named Osho. The idea was essentially to create a new form of bodywork that would take the best of the presently existing modalities and imbue them with a deeper perspective than was presently existing

I feel that with the enduring chronic pain in my chest, body work can be very helpful. I started practicing yoga some time ago and made use of a CD, but the pranayama breathing exercices and asana's were too intensive and I got still more pain than before. I think it was not a good idea after all to listen to a CD, because then you adopt youself to an imposed rhythm and pace of another person. So now I am practicing yoga very gently on my own.

It would be a great comfort for me to read or hear of testimonies of people who went through and found relief in some kind of body therapy (annex meditation).

Greetings in Christ,
Fred

This is a very good observation dear Fred . . .
I hope you will let us know how this newest venture goes for you

Yes I would agree with you Fred. I found that doing the breathing exercises with a teacher made me very tense, and therefore didn't do me any good at all, but doing them at home, like you, at my own pace, I find them helpful.

Good luck with the bodywork.

Blessings,
Jude

Hi Freddy!

Oh "body work" is great for you!
I have done a lot of it because of an injury I had but I can attest to yoga being even more powerful than body work! I love having body work done too though!
I healed a lot when I practiced yoga for my chronic injury. One of my first commentors was my massage therapists. She exclaimed to me wow you body is half healed now that you are doing yoga! I was like half healed I had been getting massages for over a year now. That was before two months had even passed in my yoga practice. I also did acupuncture too. And I hate needles (it did not hurt) but my pain was so intense I tried it. It did relieve a lot of the pain also. I also do deep tissue on myself as soon as I feel the tightening of the injury area which helps alot! I know for me I can go into a bodywork session in much pain and come out smiling sometimes! Like a completely different person walks out! It's definately great for anxiety and so many other medical conditions!

Let us know how it goes!!!

Peace, Love and Joy,
Diane
Grateful to be here!
What a gift and connection builder!

Love who You Are

Dear friends,

I came across the website and email address of someone with whom I had some correspondance years ago.
Most of you won't understand Dutch but here it is: http://peterkampschuur.blogspot.com/
http://www.filosofie-oostwest.nl/fwphp/framelarge.php?fnn=docentenkel&krk=87
This guy is a pupil of Hetty Draayer (she lived with her children in a concentration camp for some time and once saw the whole acupunture system as in a vision), who herself was a pupil of the famous Zen teacher and therapist KG von Dürckheim http://www.ishaya.com/library/Ascenders/trans.htmm
http://www.librarything.com/author/durckheimkarlfriedgr
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karlfried_Graf_Dürckheim
Kampschuur's approach is tmo very interesting! He stresses the importance of being centered and grounded and learning to breathe in the so-called chi-point or cosmic eye which lies in the sacrum.
This point lies still beneath the so-called hara.
Next Friday I have a session with him in the Netherlands.
I think certainly in my case (being high sensitive ànd very cerebral) it is very important to learn to breath well and to sit well.
I read another excellent book by the former monk and now hermit Jeroen Witkam  http://www.jacketflap.com/persondetail.asp?person=73640  http://spiritdimension.com/zen-buddhism_/017/jeroen-witkam-the-eye-aware--zen-lessons-for-christian.htm http://www.tao-rabbit.nl/page.php?39. who like many monks is also a pupil of VD.
This contemplative/zen/bodily approach of Bible texts is what I always sought for!

Please keep on praying for me! There is still so much resistance to change!

Greetings,
Fred

Dear Fred,
I'm glad to hear you are staying with this. You sound much more positive!

I read something today about the Alexander Technique which is about sitting, standing and moving well, and I thought of you.

Blessings,
Jude

Hi Fred,
i read all of what you wrote.  I want to just say that I am so impressed with what you are drawn to, and your words of wisdom
"I think it was not a good idea after all to listen to a CD, because then you adopt youself to an imposed rhythm and pace of another person. So now I am practicing yoga very gently on my own"

i wish that I knew how to read dutch language.  But alas I do not.  But I will read the other websites you provided links for.  I am well familiar with the hara.  And I do like what the master said about a "cosmic eye which is in the sacrum".   That feels right to me.  Sounds like you are doing great though on your path to healing. Blessings and love, liliwings
No need to spend endless hours, days, weeks searching for the rainbow.  Open your heart and your eyes to see and know you are the rainbow you seek.  Rejoyce in the beauty of the co-creation of you.

Thanks Jude and Liliwings for the compliments!!!
Yes, it feels good and this is my path right now I feel.
Jeroen Witkam, the monk I spoke about wrote me in the meantime and is also very positive about all this. Up to change and transformation... after all this pain!

PAX,
Fred
