May I please ask for prayers of love and support
for my best friend Dorothy,
and her partner William.
He has been unexpectedly admitted to the hospital
and will be getting double bypass surgery tomorrow.
Both are frightened and upset over this sudden news.
I will light a candle for them both
in a group called 'will'
with much love . . .

Dorothy is close to your heart! I will be glad to keep her and William in my prayers and light a candle for them.
 
Heart surgery would be scary for anyone, but by-pass surgery is done so much that physicians have a lot of experience with it. So there is every reason for hope that all will go well! 
 
I will light a candle in  thanksgiving!

William's surgery went well
although it lasted quite a long time . . .
five hours.
He remains in intensive care,
but Dorothy is very relieved.

I am so pleased that everything went well.  Although I am not surprised.  It must be such an ordeal to wait while your husband is in surgery.  And now Williams ordeal is to heal.  And heal he will.  (no pun intended)

Five hours of waiting is a long time, but what a relief, when good news comes!
I know how it felt waiting for Leon to come out of hip surgery last year!

the new challenge will be
to learn how to eat better!
It may not sound like a hard thing,
but William has eaten one way his whole life,
and Dorothy is beswoggled by all the measuring and calorie counting
that is involved with WeightWatchers,
so this will be very difficult for both of them . . .
so please,
just keep them tucked into a corner of your heart
as they face these necessary lifestyle changes
with love . . .

Yes, I would agree that changing your diet can be very challenging indeed, although I am assured by people who have had to do it, that you do come to like your new diet.
