my friend Pierre need prayers - 8/7/2009 3:27 PM ( #1 )
I received an email from a friend of mine who lives in another city. His name is Pierre.

He is desperate and suicidal because he is in dire straits. (Of course I am going to phone him)

He has suffered many heart problems in the past. His ex-wife left him a lot of debts. Because of employment problems, he is about to be served a foreclosure notice.

There are many things that are not going well in his life and stress is not good for his heart.

I'm trying to reach him by phone but there is no answer.

Please pray for him.

Green Woman,

I empathize with you and your friend, because I well know what anxiety someone who is suicidal may cause. I am going to light a candle for your friend Pierre, keeping him in my prayer.

Re:my friend Pierre need prayers > progress report - 8/8/2009 5:22 PM ( #6 )
I managed to reach him. He hads only $20 left in his pockets. And his car is not functional at the moment (no money to fix it).

I was fortunate enough to have some translation work I could give to Pierre (he is a former lawyer and a good one too, but his health cannot bear the stress now of pleading in Court, he had many heart attacks)  and it was legalese so it was up his alley.

I felt really satisfied down inside because I was in a position to share, to give to the next person because I received so much. I feel I have done my duty (karma).

Spread the wealth but more importantly, spread the love.

Told him a list of all his good and positive points: after being a corporate lawyer for years he has decided to defend the "little guy" whose employment insurance claims are denied (he sits as administrative board "judge"). His writing skills are excellent, etc. He will probably lose his house anyway :( but at least I may have offered him something to help make a decent living. Pay his meds and have some treats for the young ones when they visit...

His ex wife was an alkie and drug addict, he had to remortgage his house... which he is about to lose. Poor Pierre.

Re:my friend Pierre need prayers > progress report - 9/26/2009 1:18 PM ( #13 )
Well my friend wrote to me this week, he says that he will have more work because some of his colleagues are retiring, moving away, etc.

Which is good, it means he will have more money.

My friend did something stupid last week. He is diabetic and he has heart trouble. And, without eating, he went out and started to put his old car on blocks to work on it without telling anyone and all alone. Of course after going back inside the house, he fainted not once but twice and spent 4 hours on the floor! Furniture was overtuned, etc. I told him not to do any physical work without eating first, he could go in a coma.

Dear Line,
thanks for the update on your friend. I'm glad he will have work.
Diabetics are notrious for doing silly things like your friend! They either forget or ignore the fact that it is so interconnected with food. I'm glad he was OK.

Love,
Jude

Hi Line.

speaking from an insulin dependent diabetics point of view i would just like to echo Jude words about diabetics being notorious for doing daft things related to food!!!  you are right though Line.  Ive had hypos from not eating and they can be very dangerous. when iot happens to me i go pretty out of it too.  i dont know what you would call this where you are.  but in the UK we have something called hyostop and it is on prescription and if you have a hypo and go unconscoius whoever is with you can squirt this hypostop inside the persons cheek and massage it in from the outside of the cheek and it has a good success rate.

i will just say one thing.  i  have hypostop and it has hgelped me .  However dont take on board anything that i say as gospel or whatever because i am not a medic, and can only tell you about my personal opinion of it working for me.

i guess i was just trying to say that if your friend went to the doctors he would be able to talk over his hypos, and get prescribed something suitable for your friend.

hypos are not good like you said.

I am thankful that he has got some work and am praying he will listen to his body about the diabetes ad go see someone

Love

Dear Eleanor,
You will have to forgive me for my frankness!! It's just that most of the diabetics I know are not careful enough with thier food intake. Who knows what I would be like though?

That's interesting about the Hypostop. I shall have to ask my sister if she knows about it. She and her husband are both diabetic and she has many a broken night when her husband has a hypo and she tries to keep him awake!

With Love,
Jude
