Grateful for our faithful friends in the animal world - 9/4/2009 1:22 PM ( #1 )
i was thinking about the pets i ve had and those of my friends around me and i thought we could talk about them here and what they mean to us, and why we are so greatful for them.

my friend's dog has had a really big impression on me and changed my fear of dogs forever.  i used to hide from every dog i saw and then along camew my friend and her dog ruffles.  from the monute i met him i realised that he was different to others. first off my friend snd i were talking and every time one of us talk he would turn his head off the side and looked like he was about to start the joing in the chat!!!  then one day i was sad and he came up to me and started licking my hand and them put his head on my knee.  then and now my friends and i have fun going round the park and play fetch or cathing the ball with him

i love ruffles and am grateful he is part of my life!

Dear Eleanor,
This is a nice idea! Often animals are there for us when people aren't, and that's why I think they are so special to us.
I don't know about other types of pet, but dogs and cats always know when we are upset and will try their best to comfort us.
I have been so grateful for most of my pets, if not all, and don't know how I would cope without them.

I shall have to give it some thought.

Love,
Jude

Dear Eleanor . . .
I too,
am grateful for our animal friends,
both indoors and out.
They remind us always
of our connection
to something bigger than we are

Some of the first cats I remember, are a group of about 6 or 7 calico cats who belonged to one of my great aunts (it runs in my family)
I thought they were the most beautiful creatures I'd ever seen. I had to wait about 30 years until I had one of my own, and she had a lovely personality.
This one isn't her, but very like her as a kitten.

Our family dog apparently guarded my pram. Paddy was a 'rabbiting' dog and would chase cats to the death if allowed, but was a soft and gentle friend in every other way. My father didn't like cats, but after he left home my older Sister brought a black and white kitten home, which we called George (after my sister's boyfriend!) until she presented us with a litter of kittens, whereapon she became 'Catty.'

Yeah, I don't know how I would make it through the toughest of the rough times without my little furry angels...

Thanks everyone.  God made all animals and they are beautiful parts of his creation.

Hello.  New term is here and with teaching, committees, and writing, I have been posting even less than my usual "not much".  It is kind of you to acknowledge my brief appearance.  Thank you!
