A Dialectical Process ... Thesis & Antithesis = Synthesis
Through meditation & deep contemplation as in the ingathering of energy & using centering techniques, higher & higher levels of consciousness and being can be attained… At the lowest chakra there’s a stirring of consciousness which gradually unravels upward in an evolutionary spiral towards its ultimate, crowning glory – the opening up of the crown chakra! When this extraordinary moment arrives the kundalini's ascent becomes a descent as the Higher Power transforms everything in an alchemy of the spirit.
At this point everything becomes topsy-turvy as in Plato’s allegory, no longer, then, are the shadows or statues, the underground copies of daylight objects, the sole reality; but, instead, there is an unwavering ascent toward higher epistemological knowledge, the theory of knowledge, towards Noesis (rational activity) which refers to The Sun, the Good – the Beatific Vision.
THE FINAL SALTUS
A breath comes down from a supernal air,
A Presence is born, a guiding Light awakes,
A stillness falls upon the instruments:
Fixed sometimes like a marble monument,
Stone-calm, the body is a pedestal
Supporting a figure of eternal Peace.
(Savitri)
When this becomes evident, when all this enters the realm of experience, then away, away with discussions dry, away with minds unpoised and perverse (T.V. Kapali-Sastry, Sadhana).
... in order that the psychic transformation may be complete, there must be a cracking of the crust of outer nature, a breaking down of the walls of inner separation, a joining of the depths of our being to the surface... The consciousness has to shift its centre, its dynamic poise, from the surface to the inner being, and create there the foundation of our thought, life and action... It is therefore essential that the psychic movement inward to the inmost psychic entity or the spark of the Divine within us should be supplemented by an opening upward to a supreme spiritual status or a higher existence (psychicisation -> Spiritualisation).
(Sri Aurobindo, The Life Divine, Vol. II)
(This is the beginning of what Sri Aurobindo has called Spiritualisaton, i.e., spiritual transformation. While psychicisation means the joining of the depths of being to the surface, spiritualisation means the uniting of the manifested existence with what is above it.)
The spiritual change is the established descent of the peace, Light, knowledge, power, bliss from above, the awareness of the Self and the Divine, and of a higher cosmic consciousness and the change of the whole consciousness (ibid.).
