So far so good with EZ no seizures and still keeping my fingers crossed.  I am improving and am not as tired as I was on Sunday and Monday.  I went out for  a little bit with my youngest son Carl who is a plumber to pick up a garbage disposal that he installed and we stopped and had breakfast.

Love having the fur kids home with me even though at times they can drive me crazy.  They follow me every where and cannot keep my bed made as two of them are constantly in it.  Have to strip it again today and I usually do not have to do the blanket or spread every week but now I do.  Gives me something else to do to occupy my time.  One good thing about a grey in bed with you at night they generate a lot of heat so you do not need a lot of blankets on top of you.

Thank you Sparrow.  Just hope that tweaking up his phenobarbital will stop the seizures.  As soon as we have an idea if this will work he will have a dental and I do have to make an appointment for Penske also.

The same thing happens with cats in and on the bed! It's worth it though.

I once was able to throw an old cover on the bed to save the spread but not any more Hershey gets everything into a ball.  I cannot block them out of the bedroom they have to be with me as much as possible and my computer is in my bedroom

I'm afraid I have no helpful tips as to how you can keep your bed clean .My bed is always messy
and I am never sure how this can be

Received a suprise today.  A phone call from Howard Cherry who is a retired Methodist Minister and Chaplain to Animal Friends.  I gave him one of the first St. Francis wall hangings that we made.  I will have to see if I have any pictures of Howard doing a blessing a few years ago.  If I find them I will post for you all to see.
 
It is 9:51 pm est here and I have to go to work tomorrow so I guess I will have to potty the pups, lock up the house and get ready for bed.

Was woke up Saturday with EZ having another seizure and Penske and Hershey attacking him.  I finally got them off of him but not before Penske bit him in the inner thigh and around his buttocks.  In trying to get the dogs away from him his legs got my legs pretty good and they are bruised up.  Took EZ to the vet and they treateed him but around 4:30 that evening I did not like his looks or the way he was acting so I took him to the ER. He had a temp of 106 and they admitted him for further tests and evaluations.  Blood work and x-rays were fine but the leg where he was bitten was swelling.  The put him on IV and cooled him down to get his fever down.  Today they told me they would have to put a drain in that leg and clean out the puss pockets which they have  done and he is fine.  He is going to see a neuro doctor tomorrow and maybe he/she can figure out why 3 seizures in 6 weeks.  I hope to get him home tomorrow.

I am sorry that EZ gave you such a scare and hasn't been doing well. I hope the neuro vet will be able to get him better regulated. You have all the cares and worries of a mother!

I'm so sorry you have this worry. I hope you are OK.
 
I guess the other dogs were scared and attacked first thinking they might be attacked. I don't know....only trying to put myself in the mind of a dog!
I know, when my sick cat Willow had a seizure in front of my other cats they reacted as though he was fighting. They didn't attack him, but did put their fur up and dived for cover.
 
Perhaps EZ needs to be separate from the others at night and when you aren't with them.

I am very sorry to hear this news Ez must have been so scared but I am sure you were as well.I hope by now poor Ez is feeling better and that his wound heals well.
 
Beryl do take care of yourself because this could have so easly been far worse in many ways.I am sure your doggies are so loving but they could have turned on you out of fear and confusion.

I am sure the others attacked out of fear and confusion.
Perhaps until the seizures are under control,
it might be best to separate the dogs
when you are not able to supervise.

I do separate when I am not home so now it will be at night also.  I do no know if EZ can do the stairs when I bring him home if not I will sleep downstairs on the futon and the other two can stay in the dining room.  If and when he can do the stairs then we will have to figure out something else.  Hopefully the neuro vet can do something.  He had been seizure free for so long and now this.  We are hoping that it is only a medication adjustment or a new medicine to be added.

EZ is home on a number of meds, draining so I guess I will have more bedding to wash.  Not eating like he did before will not worry he has a neuro appt. on the 2nd.  Sleeping now but the one med will make him drowsy
