GESTALT The whole entire integrated system is more important than the individual parts and as one discovers reality holistically, life takes on a whole other world w/ new, deeper meaning & purpose... For instance, as one is exposed to anxiety producing stimuli there are attempts to either avoid the source of the problem or, perhaps, one may perform some sort of ritualizing activity in order to relieve the tension generated by the anxiety. When thoughts are better understood and not clouded by excessive emotion, our thinking can, consequently, be corrected. How you see yourself is how you feel. And distortions, unfortunately, may often become self-fulfilling prophecies. Therefore, it is necessary to focus & reframe negative thoughts w/ mindfulness and meditation through thought restructuring... Genuine fellow feeling may ever-increasingly develop as we practice listening in an openly receptive manner, listening respectively w/ the 'third ear, in the spirit of understanding one another... One of the etymologies of education is educere which is to educe, to draw out one's potential (in posse, possibility) into Essence, Presence (in esse)... in the spirit of humanitas, arête, which is optimal healthy full-functioning humanness - the goal of modern growth-&-health analysts of the human condition. This, ultimately, is the goal, the greatest Good to strive for as in self-creation, in renewing & atoning the self (at-one-ment, the exemplification of man’s unity w/ God, whereby man reflects divine Truth, Life, and Love) by transcending the ego...

This is one thing we seem to have lost sight of in our life-time, with our 'busy-busy' and self-obsessed lifestyles. Jude
