Showing gratitude - 11/11/2009 11:30 AM ( #1 )
  • If you have all the energy in the world...return back a favor you got from someone by gifting something.
  • Else if you can only reach out to another...scribble a "Thank you" note or say "Thanks".
  • Else if you can only think...spend a moment in awareness of an act of kindness you received
  • Else when you can do nothing...just enjoy your blessings...all the above will come by automatically.

Arvind, I apologize for being so late in welcoming you to the forum "familyhood."  Your post is an excellent reminder of the importance of "saying" Thank You in one form or another.  Often times, it seems like complaints or voiced much more often than "Thank You's".  We look forward to many more visits from you.

I just love today's Gratefulness "Word for Today"

It also reminds me of our T.O.
If we perceived Life with reverence, we would stand in awe at the experience of physical Life and walk the Earth in a very deep sense of gratitude.

Jude, Thank you for the post on Life.  Today our weather is much the same as yours,
a good day to work on Christmas "stuff."
Buba, I have learned to celebrate the cold, wet, rainy days.  As a young boy of 9, my husband had a job delivering newspapers each day  to help support the family.  (his father died when he was 6).  Back then, the kids walked with the bag of newspapers and had to make sure they went on the porch. Each day like today, (cold, wet, rainy) he is always in a good mood and
very grateful that he no longer has to be outside delivering newspapers in weather like this and a prayer is sent up for all those who must work outside in this weather.  Cold, wet, rainy days are real gift to him now and through him, I , too, have learned to appreciate them.

cold, and wet weather,
reminds me when I walked to the bus stop,
to go to school, as I was seven.
Sometimes I waear a dress with a thin waistcoat
and it was even better, than stay at home...
But I like rainy days and fog,
because the silence is special for me
and the smell in the air of wood
and earth can also touch the sense...

is.

I used to like rainy season for a few reasons...

1. sometimes school declared holidays when it heavily.
2. I liked to play indoor games when it rained outside.
3. As Isabella said, the smell of the rainy season is good.
4. My place becomes more pleasant when it rains.

It is nice to meet other rainy day lovers . . .
sometimes a rainy day is needed.
