Lord, Bless each one of our soldiers. Put hand upon their head, guide them in salvation, guide them in wisdom defending our freedom. Bless their parents, who want nothing more than their safe return. Have mercy on this nation. I pray that your name will return on the peoples lips who deny you in public places. That you are returned to this nation. Without your guidance/love we are weak. Lord, I love my soldiers very much. Keep them safe, bring them home to this family. May your name be upon their lips each day/night. In Jesus' Name, Amen

Hi all. I'm new to this site and my name is Joy. My son is with the 82nd Airborne and he recently deployed. I go on the website and light candles all the time. I pray for all our soldiers and their families. The not knowing and hearing from them is the hardest thing I've had to deal with. These soldiers are all HEROS!!!! They are forever in my heart and always on my mind.

Hi I am also new to this site and want you to know that I pray every night for our men and women. I hope that they come home safe and soon. I have gone to the "irag" candle site and noticed that there was only 1 candle burning is this where we are to light them?

Welcome to the forum, Chardy! Thank you for joining in lighting candles for those in harm's way. I just went to "iraq" and found 11 candles. Perhaps you made a mistake in the spelling (the names are not case-sensitive). Wishing you everything good, Edda

thanks so much. I went into that site and started lighting those candles just in case I was in the right place after I posted my message. I figure if I was wrong it would not be the first time. What really bothers me is that Barbaro has more candles burning for him that our soldiers in Iraq. Don't get me wrong Barbaro was a great horse but almost 4000 candles. I will be doing my best to light candles every day for our men and women. I have a nephew that is going in the Marines in August. Thanks for letting me join the group.

Dear Chardy, You see you HAD found the right place! I, too, at times wondered, why there were more candles burning for a horse than for any human being I am aware of. I suppose there is nothing really controversial about this magnificent horse whose story was followed by so many around the world. The same is not true of wars, but whatever one's opinion is, there is nothing controversial about praying for the safety of the troops, all loved sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters, as well as friends. There are families who worry about them, too many who have to mourn them. They deserve our support. Again, thank you! Edda

I am grateful, beyond description, to every man and woman that has taken up arms in the defense of the freedom I enjoy. For the fallen and the surviving, I pray that man will grow beyond where we are now so that no others will fall in war or endure such times. I also pray that somewhere, anywhere, two soldiers from opposite sides find some common ground. "We will not fight you. But there is room at our table, should you choose to sit with us." While on our trip home from VA to NY on Sunday, we passed by a large 'convoy' of army trucks with soldiers and supplies in them. I wanted to show my support for them in some way. So each time we passed a truck, I gave them all a big thumbs up, I got smiles and a beep from them all. I'm very proud of these young men and women for so bravely fighting for our freedoms. Thanks to them all. They all looked so young, not even old enough to shave, babes in the wood. I send prayers to them and their families for a safe return home for each and every one. I can't imagine what horrors they go thru each day. GOD BLESS THEM ALL!!!!! Love, Lynn

May all who are there be protected by the Light in whatever form they choose to worship. May they be held safely Until they can be held by those who love them and miss them. May they all know how much they are appreciated and loved, by those of us who are waiting, safe here in our homes. May we each be a small light of hope to them as they are each a beacon of freedom for us. Blessed Be.

May all the guardian Angels that are available take some time to watch out for our troops.
