For all children in need! - 7/8/2007 10:30 AM
There are so many children in need, some abused, suffering the affects of SBS, parents trying to keep their memory alive. Light a candle for each one, I have found so many and my heart broke that when I closed the myspace or news page that the child was gone, yet not forgotten from my mind and heart, this is my way of helping those who cannot help themselves, helping the parents and families that are reaching out, please pray with me.

Visit my myspace, found a vid with names and pics, you can put it on yours, just get the code. I lit quite a few candles if I put the name of a child on there that you know or is yours please know I only did this to let everyone know to pray for the child and family. If I misspelled a name look over me, my eyes got blurred.

Edda,
Thank you so much, I felt such a need to do something for these children, I just couldn't leave and do nothing for them, my heart was so heavy with their little faces. Such beautiful babies, such need, God bless you.

Dear Crystal, I am touched by your concern for these little ones. It is so unspeakably sad when the missing children are found dead; what pain for their families.
I'll remember them and keep lighting candles.

Emil,
May God bless you abundantly, I have seen so many selfless and givng people on this forum, I thank God I found it.

Pray for these two children, their names weren't given but God knows who they are, much love and God bless you all.

Seven police officers responded to a call about 2 p.m. Saturday of a child lying in the road, said Jeff Jones, assistant district attorney.

They found the baby girl on the ground outside the car, with the Cleeks inside the car. The high temperature in the area was 92 degrees that day.

"One of the officers thought it was a doll in the road," Jones said. An 18-month-old boy was found in the car.

Ashley Cleek was asleep at the steering wheel, and Kenneth Cleek was in the back seat passed out, Jones said.

"He (Kenneth Cleek) was intoxicated on Xanax," Jones alleged.

The infant had abrasions and bruises on her elbow and knee and had a swollen area on her head, Jones said. She was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa and diagnosed with a bilateral skull fracture.

Both children were taken into protective custody and placed with family members, Jones said.

Jones said he didn't know how long the baby was in the road. Ashley Cleek told police the couple had pulled over to the side of the road about 5 a.m., according to a police report.

Candle Group: Child

Fabulous thread, Crystal! This is a wonderful place for every child who needs a candle lit for them. Every mom and dad who would like candles lit for their own kids would do well to post in this tread, as I have the feeling it will be going on for a while!

Much love to you!

Crystal, I wrote this some years ago. I don't know what became of her. There are children like these nobody knows about.

WILL YOU HOLD ME?

She came into my office
around lunch time,
a slender, blond girl
of about five or six.
I had seen her a
few times before.
"May I stay with you
for a while?" she asked.
I had things to do, but
she was not looking
to be entertained.
She sat and asked a
a question now and then.
After a silence she
had another question,
"Will you hold me?"
She found a place
on my lap, her head
against my shoulder,
my arms around her.
She closed her eyes
and didn't talk.
I was touched by
her need and her trust.
She was fed and dressed,
but her heart was hungry.
At least, she knew to ask
for what she needed.
I hoped she would place
her trust wisely.
After a while she was
satisfied, got up
and left quietly.

Edda
Peace and joy!

Dearest Edda,
Your words touch my heart, and as long as there are loving people like you to give the lonely and needy a hug or hold them when they need it then that gives me hope. Hope that there are more like you that work with children and are truly receptive to them. May you be blessed always by Gods loving touch, my prayers are with you. Much love and God bless.

Edda: That was a very touching piece you wrote. There are so many lonely and unwanted children and elderly people in our wolrd -- not to mention all those in between.

Your encounter with this little girl reminds me of an eight or nine year-old boy I met about twenty years ago. We were in a group and I could tell his mother liked me, but she was very, very drunk and I ended up taking a short walk by the water near Galveston Bay with him. It seemed he wanted to talk.

He told me his father didn't care for him because he never visited. I told him maybe his father had some problems and that his absence shouldn't be taken as lack of love, that maybe he would come around one day. Later he told me his mother was always picking up men and taking them home. All I could do is show him I wouldn't be one of those men. I gave them a ride home, made sure they were OK, and left -- although, sadly, his mother was trying to usher me into her room in front of him.

I still think of that little boy who is a grown man now. And I hope somehow I made a difference in his life, if only for a day. He was a great kid, and had he been my son, I would have been very proud of the way he carried himself.

I don't know, for some reason that little boy has never faded from my memory.

Just had to get it out.
