Dear Edda and Jude, I guess I was just one of those "lucky" ones over 60's.  On a positive note, being much over 60, it wasn't as bad as some younger friends and I no longer need to be concerned about the vaccine.  HHHHHHmmmmmmm age does have its privileges.

When thinking with dread of all the things I have to do today, I'm grateful that I have capable hands to make the bed and cook lunch. Electricity and gas to cook with and heat my home. An iron to do my ironing for me, a vacuum cleaner to clean the floor, and hot water in which to bathe afterwards.
 
Then later, a tv to watch and a sofa to relax on with my cats.
 
Yes, a lot to be grateful for.

Good day to all. Today I am grateful for being able to connect with everyone. Stopping by with an update. My friend Terry beat the pneumonia and was released from the hospital. He is home recuperating. He was told of all the prayers and well wishes and sends his appreciation. He's still very ill, but the hospital stay was enough to convince him to stop drinking. I am very grateful for that. At least he is giving his body a fighting chance.
I'm still hanging in there. I had my last 2 bottom teeth pulled, waiting to heal, then I can get my plate done. Extremely grateful for no more toothaches.
I changed physical therapists, I had my evaluation yesterday and I go on thursday for my therapy. I think I'll do much better at the new place.
Our church is doing their annual Thanksgiving on the 19th and I'm very excited about being able to be a part of it again.
Our bankruptcy was finally filed and the creditors have stopped calling. Silence is indeed golden. Things are starting to look up.

I'm grateful for supermarkets and enough money to spend in them
 
For mobile phones, hole-in-the-wall cash dispensers, taxis and kind taxi drivers
 
I'm grateful that not as many photos taken on Saturday are spoiled as I thought! A friend suggested the lens was misted up, so that's something to look out for.
 
For telephones and help at the other end of the telephone line just when I needed it
 
For my computer, my printer and the fun they provide me with
 
That my little Blackberry is still with me

Today I am grateful to have a few minutes and a borrowed computer to post here and share my gratitude for all here dear friends all of you ...I realized today that tomorrow is the third year without my Mom Im' grateful that I made a day with out her this is especially important to realize especially in my current discouragement and situation Im' grateful for the groups hugs too Lynn and grateful  your back as well sandra hooray so happy about your smoke free time I made 2 years 10.11.09 and Im' grateful to remain smoke free today especially with all the stressors Im' grateful tonight I led a Holiday Relaxation Prep program with a holiday quiz I wrote up and all enjoyed the evening Im' grateful I was given a ride home and did not have to stand for the bus so late at night Im' grateful for being connected to many spirituality people who are planning to offer reiki  at our Park ridge location Im' grateful for the peace of mind I keep retrieving snippets of in the midst of the chaos I ask for prayers for our Joshua who is having some digestive issues and will be revaluated as a result of these problems I ask for prayers and resolutions to my financial and need for home issues Im' grateful for all the inspiration offered here and the continued support words cannot express how much they mean...I will share one God thing as I call the experience while at the office I took a break and went for a walk in the mall I entered a small store and as I walked around my eye caught a tote bag with big letters that said Trust God! I was instantly reminded how earlier as I sat in my office I held my Moms rosary and p;plead with God in prayer for help...I know he heard me and answered me  too

Reading about your concerns, I wish I could help you! Like Edda, I firmly believe your dear Mother is close to you. I am so often reminded how hard life was for my mother, having to leave her home with three children... Most of her generation were challenged more than we can imagine. You are always in my heart, and candles, both virtual and made of bee-wax, are burning.

Dearest Lynn, it is so good to see you back and read your posts.  I am glad things are starting to turn around for your friend and for you.  Hopefully the new therapist will bring much improvement.  With all that is going on in your own life, it is special to read of your excitement at once again being able to work at the annual Thanksgiving dinner.  You are a very special person to be so concerned about helping others when you are in the midst of your own difficulties.  You know a candle is always lit for you. 
Barbara, as I read your post about your Mom's anniversary, thoughts immediately went to the Cenacle and all the times she spent there.  I hope you will be able to visit there soon.  Know that you and little Joshua are held in prayer.
Isabella, your visit with your daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren sounds like it was a
real tonic for you. Having you for a Mom, I am sure she is a wonderful parent.  Know that we are grateful also to have you as part of our familyhood.

Tonight I am grateful for herbal tea that can be so very soothing, for a warm flannel nightgown, for the gas that heats the tea; for soft warm slippers; and for soft strong paper towels that are perfect for coughs and runny noses; for finding enough varied sized tins for
the Christmas candy; for the money to pay the bills; for a thermal cup to keep the tea warm;
for the extension of unemployment benefits for the millions who were about to run out;
for another day of life; for chicken soup; for all those in this world who in spite of their own financial struggles continue to reach out and share what they have with others; for a bed to sleep in with prayers for those who have no where warm to sleep.  May we all awake tomorow to the realization of how much we are blessed.

I'm glad you had the chance to post for us your joys and sorrows and concerns, and that messages of Hope are continuing for you.
I understand your sadness because your Mother is no longer with you..at least in body, but she is surely there helping to send the messages you need, at the times you most need them.
I have become aware that my own Mother, who died 22 years ago, is suddenly very close. She was so very fond of my Son when he was a little boy, and I know if she were alive, she would grieve terribly about how he is now. She feels my pain and must, like all mothers, wish she could be here to comfort me. It's another indication that Love never dies.
 
Sending you Love and Hugs and praying for many Blessings to come into your life. TRUST has been a huge issue for me and I think your message on the Tote bag is awesome.

That 2 old mattresses (dragged home from the field by my Son several years ago.... ) which have been decorating our drive and getting soggier and smellier by the week, have finally been taken away.........HOORAY!
I have been taking them garadually apart and putting bits out with the regular trash each week!
 
For heating to put on now the sun has gone down
