Tonight I am grateful for having a meeting this afternoon which gave me a graceful
exit from a function I really didn't want to attend.
I am grateful for the wisps of color tinged foliage barely touched by Autumn's palate;
that tomorrow the temps will actually "feel" like Autumn rather than the last hurrah
of summer;that the days are shorter calling one to more interior reflection and quiet;
for birthdays of sons come and gone, but celebrated well; for a simple thing like ice to
put in clean water to drink; for the cup that holds the water and for all those who
were involved in its creation (may they all have been paid a living wage); for all those
signals sent from brain to fingers and all other body parts to keep those body parts
doing their jobs with little or no effort from me; for a bar of soap to wash hands and
towels to dry them; for all those who worked to make the soap and towels, bring them
to market and sell them(may they all have been paid a living wage); most of all, I am
grateful for another day of life, possibly another week of life--for one never knows. May
each breath be a "prayer" of gratitude for the gift of this life, in this place, at this time.
May all the gifts that have been so abundantly showered on this life, be freely given to
all so that what this life has been gifted with is given as gift.

May the warm, vibrant colors of Autumn bring a warmth and vibrancy to the depth of
each one's spirit so that in blessing others, we may be blessed.

May each breath be a "prayer" of gratitude for the gift of this life, in this place, at this time.

Today I am grateful for that first cup of coffee as I stumble out of bed;
for the chill in the air that brings thoughts of roaring fires and the Autumn
perfumes of burning wood incensing the chill night breezes;
for the wind of change that blows freely wherever it pleases inviting
one to follow without knowledge of its destination or ending in
gale force or merely temporary gusts;
for the ability of multi-tasking without need for total project completion,
before attending to a new serendipity having capriciously fallen into one's lap;
for being able to "turn up all rocks" on this new serendipitous path
without becoming attached to the outcome;
for long slow breaths allowing forward motion to quell the small nagging fears
that serendipity can birth in the depth of being;
for the realization that in any given moment, life is capable of finding
previously unknown, unfamiliar "interstates" for travel presenting only the invitation
to "come and see;"
for the gift of life at this moment, in this time, in this place;
for the gift of seasons as a reminder that all life is an ever changing
invitation into a newness of existence.
