Re:Feeling "gratitude challenged" - 9/26/2009 9:50 PM ( #741 )
Today I was "gratitude challenged" because I was unable to go on line for a reason that defied logic. After spending a lot of time with the telephone company that couldn't help me even though the problem seemed to be theirs, I sought help from the internet provider. I was fortunate to reach someone in technical assistance who could talk me through the necessary steps to correct, or rather work my way around, the problem.
I am grateful to be able to be back on line and try to catch up with the posts I hadn't seen but a still challenged for the time I spent.....

Dear Edda,
I understand totally where you are coming from! Your phone companies sound every bit as helful as ours.....they don't want to take any responsibility, especially if we haven't got our Internet facility with them.
I am glad you got it sorted though and that you found a helpful person to guide you.

Dear Edda . . .
I am so glad that you were able to muddle your way
through the wasteland
of telephone and internet companies!
It is no smal feat
as Jude and I both
can attest to.
So it was worth the trouble,
because here you are today!
I raise my coffee cup

in a toast
to one more victory over
these great corporate beasts

Same here, the Internet/phone/cable TV raised its rates unilaterally (breach of contract), there is a class action in the works but it is going to take a while before we see any results.

There was a defect on the network which caused me to lose service, I had to threaten them with legal action to get them to inspect, they were saying it was my fault (it was not). Finally I got a letter of apology I copied to my clients (I sent in some translation jobs late and the clients were mad).

Dear Line,

I can see how in your line of work interruption of service would be especially problematic. Failure for someone to get a translation in time could have serious consequences!
We have become so dependent on technology!

Edda

Dear Edda,
I am glad you got past those who always want to scapegoat someone else.  The usual response
received is phone company blames ISP who blames phone company who then both blame it on the fact that I use a Mac and not a PC so it then becomes Apple computer's fault but never never ever either one of them.
Blessings on your week ahead,
Betty

Dear Betty,

I don't know if it's comforting or not to know your utility companies are identical to ours!!!

Blessings,
Jude

Tonight I feel very very challenged but what was keeping me going was 'belief'.God knows and I wish I did right now as it seems never ending it really does. I think it's best to 'give up' battling and 'give in' as it must be by far an easier path to walk.

Dear Sandra and Barbara,

The first step towards change and healing is to accept yourself and your situation just as it is now.

Dear Sandra and Barbara,

I agree with Jude! One can wear oneself out fighting things the way the are. Once one can say, "Alright, this is my situation, these are my  strengths and weaknesses, these are my thoughts and feelings, they are what they are," then one has a basis from which to move on. For myself I don't ask God to change it, but to give me the wisdom and strength to deal with it, and to send me the help I need. Help comes often from unexpected places as most of us already have experienced. The hard thing is to trust!

Much love,
Edda

Giving up
is not an option,
but surrendering to a wisdom that is greater than our own, is.
My heart goes out to you
as you face new challenges,
dear Sandra.
Like Barbara has said,
we are all 'sisters in this journey' . . .
you are most surely not alone

I guess in hindsight this is the key if I think about it hard enough ..
