I Dream of...(2)

The first I Dream Of...thread was started because I wanted to gift the world with our dreams and visions for my birthday. But I thought it would be neat to start a thread where we can post our dreams for their own sake.

So I will extend the invitation again here. "What do you dream of? What are your hopes, your aspirations?...light a candle for something very near and dear to you...shed a little light on something perhaps forgotten...light a concern...illuminate a dusty corner...draw back the curtain to let the sun's rays nudge a dream that has too long lain asleep..."

What positive gift would we bring the world? So easy to see what's wrong. Maybe light a candle for what's right or perhaps, how things could be from that special place of hope and faith.

Pray for healing, give thanks for health. Pray for end to war, give thanks for peace. Pray for no more lack or poverty, give thanks for the abundance that calls us to expand our cup. Our dreams can take many forms.

You can go to my group or light a candle in your own or in the general population, but do share it here. I get so much joy from being gifted with a glimpse into other people's dreams and hopes.

Yesterday I was fortunate to see a relative's new baby for the first time. My dream for little Carolyne is that she may grow up and thrive and become the woman God intends her to be. I wish for her parents that they will nurture the gift of this child with all the love I know they have.

This dream for all children to be loved and nurtured reminds me of a poem I wrote several years ago.
 
FALLING IN LOVE
 
Have you ever
looked into a baby's
clear eyes and
seen your smile
reflected, feeling
nothing but
delight, laughter
rising from deep within
out of sheer joy in
the beauty of
the encounter?
And you rejoice
in this baby's
simply being there,
in the wonder
and the promise.
Something stirs
in your heart,
"Can I nurture
this promise?"

My dream is that I can thank God for every day he let me spend with my beloved son Robby before calling him home. I thank God for the precious time he allows me to spend with my remaining family. And one of many dreams have been fulfilled, to be enriched by the love, care and concern from strangers to help each other and make this world a better place. I thank you all for helping me to realize at least one of my dreams. Love you all. God Bless.

What a beautiful, tender poem...especially the last line, "Can I nurture this promise?" It is a poignant question. I wonder how many of us can read this poem, and perhaps, look within saying those same words to that child within.
