Merry Christmas One & All - 12/22/2007 5:14 PM ( #1 )
Well my dear friends ...

I would like to take this time to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas & Joyous New Year. I have been blessed by each of you who have shared on my threads since starting here.  It's always good to have friends to share with & to talk with.

It has been fun to share the GOOD NEWS & THE BAD NEWS ... our UP'S & DOWN'S of being diabetic so ... I pray that in the coming year that we can all be there for each other & to help encourage one another in any way that we can ...

With a Hug ...
With a Prayer ...
With a Encouraging word ...

So ... let's be there.  So, take care and I will be back after the NEW YEAR as this will be a busy time for me but I will try and stop into say HELLO !!

Always, Karen

Today I have been thinking of Christmas. The photo of Sandra's Christmas tree has made me think of it, and Sandra, you know you really have inspired me; I usually find this time of year very difficult and I can forget about the beauty of Christmas.

Anyway, thinking of spreading some joy around, ladies if any of you are stuck for something to put in your cards, I used these verses last year; the first is anon, that was given to me by a dear frined, the others are ones I made up to put in some home made Christmas Cards:

Christmas Spirit
I have an address book of people that I know
A contact list of friends most loved
And every name that is in my treasured little book
Is someone special and well loved; friends and family
Who live near and far; a friendly face,
A welcome smile, a kindly voice, a friend most dear…
Memories sparkle as I open up the book
So when I send a Christmas card that is addressed to you,
It’s because you are on that list of folk I love so very much.
And whether I have known you for many years or few
In someway you are a part of shaping the things I do.

That is why within this card I write “with love” to you,
And wish upon the Christmas stars
That we can see in the heavens above
That the spirit of Christmas
Blesses you, your family and home
And sparkles your hearth with love
Annon.

Once upon a Christmas time
Many years ago
A baby boy so meek and mild
Was born in a stable
And the angels smiled…
A star shone bright
In the skies overhead
A shining light so bright
That Kings came that very night
To see the child
Of peace and light…
And at this special time of year
I think of you and wish you joy ,
And pray God’s love and light
Be with you now
And every day and night
Of the coming New Year

Wishing you love and happiness this Christmas Time

*_*_*_*_*_*_*

From home to home,
From heart to heart,
From one place to another
The warmth and joy of Christmas,

Brings us closer to each other
*_*_*_*

A Christmas wish
To bid you well
And keep you safe
All year round.
I wish you happiness
And all the joy
To fill your heart
And light up your hearth.
But it’s Christmas Love
I wish you most
And a Christmas blessed
With peace and light
And company,
Good cheer and delight

If you are stuck for a little present, try making a little box that you can paint, decorate, or wrap up and then add a ribbon and a little tag with the rhyme

This is a very special  gift
That you can never see,
The reason why it’s special
Is it’s for you from me.
Whenever you are lonely,
Or even feeling blue,
You only have to hold this gift,
And know I think of you.
You can never open it –
Please leave the  ribbon tied,
Just hold it close to your heart
It’s filled with love inside.

love to all and happy Christmas, everyone.x

Thank you Gina, for the verses, and I love the last about the little box filled with love.
The first one made me smile, as Kaye, the dear friend I mentioned in the thread about welcoming little Violet, always hired me ("business is business", she used to always say) to make her nearly 100 Christmas cards each year. I don't know how many copies of that first verse I made over the years for her to insert in her cards and letters!
with love . . .
