I do not have anyone tailgating me anymore on I-90 since I put up the sign,
"Tires made by Me", on the center of the back bumper, in Neon colors! Ha!

Marie M.: The 10 Top Rules of Chocolate should be made into 11. I used this one with a friend who had contradicted me in everything that I was saying to convince him of the necessity of counteracting climate change. For his birthday, I sent him a box of chocolates with this note:
Save the Earth - it´s the only planet with CHOCOLATE!

BE MY VALENTINE
I walked into a post office one day to see a middle-aged, balding man standing at the counter methodically placing "Love" stamps on bright pink envelopes with hearts all over them.

He then took out a perfume bottle and sprayed scent all over them. My curiosity getting the better of me, I asked him what he is doing.

The man told me, "I'm sending out 1,000 Valentine cards signed, 'Guess who?'" "But why?" I asked "I'm a divorce lawyer," the man replies.

Wife: You know that young couple next door? He’s so sweet to her. Every morning he kisses her goodbye, and every evening he brings her flowers. Why can’t you do that?
Husband: Okay, but if she falls for me remember you started it.

What did the painter say to her boyfriend?
"I love you with all my art!"

What does a man who loves his car do on February 14?
He gives it a valenshine!

What did the man with the broken leg say to his nurse?
"I've got a crutch on you!"

Did you hear about the romance in the tropical fish tank?
It was a case of guppy love.

What do you call two birds in love?
Tweethearts!

What do you call a very small valentine?
A valentiny!

What did Frankenstein say to his girlfriend?
"Be my valenstein!"

Why did the stupid boy put clothes on the valentines he was sending?
Because they needed to be ad-dressed!

Why is Valentine's Day the best day for a celebration?
Because you can really party hearty!

What did one oar say to the other?
"Can I interest you in a little row-mance?"

What happened when the man fell in love with his garden?
It made him wed his plants!

What happened when the two angels got married?
They lived harpily ever after!

Why should you send your sweetie a valentine?
Because you always heart the one you love!
Yesterday is gone forever.Tomorrow may not come. Live Fully each moment today. Look for Good Things that Happen to you Every Day.

RE: Laughter and the Positive Effects - 2/13/2008 9:33 PM ( #210 )
Roses Every Year

Red roses were her favorites, her name was also Rose.

And every year her husband sent them, tied with pretty bows.

The year he passed, the roses were delivered to her door.

The card said, "Be my Valentine", like all the years before.

Each year he sent her roses, and the note would always say,

"I love you even more this year, than last year on this day.

My love for you will always grow, with every passing year."

She knew this was the last time that the roses would appear.

She thought, he ordered roses in advance before this day.

Her loving husband did not know, that he would pass away.

He always liked to do things early, way before the time.

Then, if he got too busy, everything would work out fine.

She trimmed the stems, and placed them in a very special vase.

Then, sat the vase beside the portrait of his smiling face.

She would sit for hours, in her husband's favorite chair.

While staring at his picture, and the roses sitting there.

A year went by, and it was hard to live without her mate.

With loneliness and solitude, that had become her fate.

Then, the very hour, as on Valentines before,

The doorbell rang, and there were roses, sitting by her door.

She brought the roses in, and then just looked at them in shock.

Then, went to get the telephone, to call the florist shop.

The owner answered, and she asked him, if he would explain,

Why would someone do this to her, causing her such pain?

"I know your husband passed away, more than a year ago,"

The owner said, "I knew you'd call, and you would want to know.

The flowers you received today, were paid for in advance.

Your husband always planned ahead, he left nothing to chance.

There is a standing order, that I have on file down here,

And he has paid, well in advance, you'll get them every year.

There also is another thing, that I think you should know,

He wrote a special little card...he did this years ago.

Then, should ever I find out that he's no longer here,

That's the card...that should be sent, to you the following year."

She thanked him and hung up the phone, her tears now flowing hard.

Her fingers shaking, as she slowly reached to get the card.

Inside the card, she saw that he had written her a note.

Then, as she stared in total silence, this is what he wrote...

"Hello my love, I know it's been a year since I've been gone,

I hope it hasn't been too hard for you to overcome.

I know it must be lonely, and the pain is very real.

For if it was the other way, I know how I would feel.

The love we shared made everything so beautiful in life.

I loved you more than words can say, you were the perfect wife.

You were my friend and lover, you fulfilled my every need.

I know it's only been a year, but please try not to grieve.

I want you to be happy, even when you shed your tears.

That is why the roses will be sent to you for years.

When you get these roses, think of all the happiness,

That we had together, and how both of us were blessed.

I have always loved you and I know I always will.

But, my love, you must go on, you have some living still.

Please...try to find happiness, while living out your days.

I know it is not easy, but I hope you find some ways.

The roses will come every year, and they will only stop,

When your door's not answered, when the florist stops to knock.

He will come five times that day, in case you have gone out.

But after his last visit, he will know without a doubt,

To take the roses to the place, where I've instructed him,

And place the roses where we are, together once again.

Sometimes in life, you find a special friend;

Someone who changes your life just by being part of it.

Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop;

Someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world.

Someone who convinces you that there really is an unlocked door just waiting for

you to open it.

This is Forever Friendship.

Apache Love Poem

Now we will feel no rain

for each of us will be shelter for the other.

Now we will feel no cold,

for each of us will be warmth for the other.

Now there is no more loneliness,

for each of us will be companion to the other.

There is only one life before us,

and our seasons will be long and good.

Wedding Poem by William Shakespeare

To His Love

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate;

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,

And summer's lease hath all too short a date;

Sometimes too hot the eye of heaven shines,

And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;

And every fair from fair some time declines,

By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimm'd.

But thy eternal summer shall not fade

Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st,

Nor shall death brag thou wand'rest in his shade

When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st.

So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,

So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Wedding Poem

In a Poor Mountain Hut

Gladly I'll live, in a poor mountain hut,

Spin, sew, and till the soil in any weather,

And wash in the cold mountain stream,

if but We dwell together.

Chocolate is a vegetable.

How, you ask?

Chocolate is derived from cocoa beans.
Bean = vegetable.
Sugar is derived from either sugar CANE or sugar BEETS.
Both are plants, which places them in the vegetable
category.

Thus, chocolate is a vegetable.

To go one step further, chocolate candy bars also contain
milk, which is dairy.  So candy bars are a health food.

Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and
strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.

Wedding Poem by Anonymous Author

To hold her in my arms:

To hold her in my arms against the twilight

and be her comrade for ever - this was all I

wanted so long as my life should last.... And

this, I told myself with a kind of wonder, this

was what love was:  this consecration, this

curious uplifting, this sudden inexplicable joy,

and this intolerable pain.
