Today I am  so full of gratitude for beauty not only was I blessed  this morning with all of the lovliness on here .

Hi Everyone!

Not only was I blessed with all the loveliness on this thread. I also was blessed with the day at the most exquisite La Jolla Cove and thee most beautiful church St. James there. I have often said I am going to visit there and finally did so….beautiful! Plus an art show on the lawn at the adjacent park! A beautiful sunset on gentle shores this day! Ahhhhh….

Love to you all!

Sandra, the Romans…..brought me into such laughter! As did all of your playfulness written here today! I wish my Romans were as cute as your Romans!!!

Peace, Love and Joy,
Diane

PS we’ll see if more show as they are often doing so lately….and even after following Barbara’s advice this is still slow on this forum. I am so glad lighting candles is still at normal speed!

Grateful to be here!
What a gift and connection builder!
Love and Gratitude,
Love who You Are

Re:Today, I'm grateful for beauty... - 7/12/2009 4:11 AM ( #2802 )
Hi everyone.  i woke up extremely early this morning from bad memories but then i was blessed with something beautiful.  i live in a ground floor flat but we have greenery in the middle of the quadrangle of flats.  there  were no cars going along the busy road and i could hear the beautiful dawn chorus coming from the birds.  it was really beautifful and i was blessed to hear it.

also my therapist once said i was doing well and to do something nice for myself a month or two ago and i bought myself a plant.  it is just coming into flower and i really had a look at the delicate petals this morning and i  thought wow.  God created them with such care and it is amazing what He has done.

Eleanor,
I'm so pleased you turned something unpleasant around and into something pleasurable this morning. A long time ago, when my husband left me, a Healer friend told me to fill my home with flowers. I did, and have done my best to always have flowers in the house ever since. It made me think of the importance of bringing beauty into my life, and also the importance of treating myself to little things each week......flowers, something special to eat or a meal eaten out, a ramble around all the charity shops in search of something nice to wear...whatever gives me a little pleasure and nurtures me at the same time.
Giving ourselves little treats and gifts, and trying to make sure we eat healthily, is something we do have control over, even when our lives appear out of our control.
Often our life-challenges do open us up to see beauty where we didn't notice it before.

Blessings,
Jude

Re:Today, I'm grateful for beauty... - 7/12/2009 5:40 AM ( #2804 )
Recently i had to be moved for my own safety because my abusers found where i was living previously and it wasnt disabled adapted (im in a wheelchair) anyway.  i had to get rid of a lot of stuff because i moved very quickly.  now i am in a three bedroom adapted flat and that is beautiful to me too.  the shower in the previous flat was way to high to get up in but now i have a proper wetroom too, and that is something really beautiful to me too.  just to feel the water running down the body is comforting and warm and it helps me feel a bit calmer when i am upset.

but there is some you mentioned Jude in your post that made me thinking of moving and that was the ledgendary words CHARITY SHOPS!  i have alsorts of beautiful pictures and ornaments now, and little  handy things for the flat as wel!!!

So if you go out look for me in the charity shops!  im always there!!!

Me too!! Unfortunately though, I am a long way from Yorkshire, so I don't expect I'll see you.
I live in 2 small rooms now (sharing my house with my Son and Granddaughter) so I don't have so much room for all the pretty little things I used to buy in charity shops. I have kept my collection of cats though, and still look for new ones, even though I don't have room
I also have 3 real cats and a dog!
People have described my 2 rooms as a Tardis!

Good Morning Juliana

They were asking for money! I

explained that collecting money for poor
children was a job for grownups and that I
thought they were trying to collect it for
themselves. They didn´t contradict, so I
said, "Come and have some cherries instead,
there are so many this year". And so they did,
enjoying them. Maybe they´ll work in
sponsoring and fundraising later on!

Re:Today, I'm grateful for beauty... - 7/12/2009 11:58 PM ( #2818 )
T.O. Thank you so much for all the “ear Candy” songs and “eye and ear candy”
videos.   They are real gift.  “Your” video of Sandra’s birth was "just what the doctor ordered".  I am glad you were the videographer and gave us all much laughter.  It is so important for laughter to be a part of each day.

Sandra, as usual, your “snaps” are outstanding.  However, I do not share your
love of cherries.  When I was a kid, we had a huge cherry tree and it was
our job to pit all the cherries, buckets and buckets and buckets of them.
“Back in those days,” we pitted them by hand—one cherry at a time.

Perhaps we should add “ear candy”, “eye candy” and “snaps” to our Grateful Living
Forum dictionary.  That will now give us four entries – ear candy, eye candy, familyhood, and snaps. T.O. I just read your story about the Black Woman and
you have just added another word to our dictionary.  This story is a real “keeper”
and has given birth to “story candy.”  We now have 5 dictionary words.

Sparrow, Dear, I couldn’t agree more about living where the seasons change.
This was in an email I received this morning and you were immediately thought
of—so here it is.

Diane, thank you for all the “new Romans.”  They have made Sandra’s and Liliwings’s day and given all of us many laughs.  Your day at La Jolla Cove, etc., sounds like a day filled with “eye candy”

Buba,
your skies and swallows are wonderful and your nighttime photo
of the bridge over the river Danub is exquisite. The tree is such a strong
reminder with your comment that there is always hope for new life. Yes, I am
jealous—all that with a phone camera.  You are truly a “miracle worker” with a phone camera.

Juliana,
that is so sad that the kids would do something like that.  We
often have kids come to the door with legitimately collecting for the poor kids.  Others sell lemonade at corner stands in subdivisions.

Sandra,
dear, You know that you are always in our hearts and prayers
and our “cheeky “ Sandra will be missed but, "a woman's gotta do what a woman's
gotta do."

T.O.  I guess Countess Chocula Von Vegetation Killer will have to turn down
your job.  I am sure I must have planted at least 15 lily bulbs but
didn’t quite kill everyone.  One actually survived me and bloomed--

Now I am only 99-44/100% pure Black Thumb.  I guess I will just have to try harder.

May we always see the beauty that is all around us.  Blessings on a new week.

Yesterday is gone forever.Tomorrow may not come. Live Fully each moment today. Look for Good Things that Happen to you Every Day.
