...feed your birdies otherwise they will end up like our old birds

What do you mean, dear ???

If you keep "feeding us old birdies" with yummy breakfast, we will end up fit, healthy and happy!!!

Thank you for lovely snaps, both Sandra and Buba! One day I make one of yours my wallpaper, the next one of yours!

Just call her by her German name, "Spatz", then she´ll be safe!!!

Love to you,
Juliana

Buba,Since you have already posted beautiful flowers, today I will do more architecture from our trip to visit my brother-in law.

Below are is the inside of Unity Temple built by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1906-1908.  The day we were there was very dark and dreary and with historical preservation, only 40 watt bulbs may be used.  The man was a genius in his use of natural light and was given the title of the first organic architect.

Next are from Edda's hometown, my beloved Chicago. First is a picture of a building and sky reflected in another building. Next is from The Willis tower, 103 stories high (1350 feet) with three solid glass observation ledges  One can walk out on them and look straight down. Some are views from the 103rd floor and others are from the glass ledge. The final photo is looking up the side of the building.  At the top left, if you look closely, you can see the tiny little specs that are the glass ledges.

This is very intresting it shows what damage can be done by unnatural light.I think Mr wright was very bright in more ways than one bless him.

Ok now I have to admit something so very dim I had no idea your beloved Chicago was near waterplease don't tell anyone this especially Edda! It's so close to the water I actually was so suprised

    is that the sea ?

I loved the sky reflecting of the building it shows me that no matter how humans try to change this world Jesus will always put his loving marks on them..

Yes I see the ledge and it's one I would never in a million years walk upon not even if there was a giant chocolate bar waiting for me

Lord above Puff I was as scared as Buba!I guess dragons have no fear of heights though because they can fly

Here´s another one to join you! Can you now understand how frightened I was when my son went up the spire of "St.Stephan" to take photos from up there? Only thinking of heights makes me dizzy! Dragons can fly, that´s it! The photos are great though, Dragon!

Thank you, Betty, for the pictures of the inside of the Unity Temple, so typical Frank Lloyd Wright, and the views from the Willis Tower (used to be Sears Tower!). Views from our high buildings are not so scary when you are actually there!

Do you have any views of the skyline? Chicago's skyline is really quite amazing!

Love,
Edda
Peace and joy!

Yes Jude, you were right! Very sweet little bird isn't it?
From Wikipedia:" The Great Tit (Parus major) is a passerine bird in the tit family Paridae. It is a widespread and common species throughout Europe in any sort of woodland. It is resident, and most Great Tits do not migrate."

Betty thank you for the photos from the Willis Tower look out. I saw it on the news not to long ago when it had opened up. I could not walk out on it myself. A bit too high, but you captured it so well. Thank you.

Buba what a cute little bird you had visiting at your window.

Evergreens in the front yard.
A memory from childhood days of my grandfathers
50 year old evergreens. These are almost 5 years old.

The bridge, always starts out across and
ends up across, but across we go again.

Re:Today, I'm grateful for beauty... - 11/3/2009 9:05 PM ( #4240 )
Our rains have finally stopped.

I promise, nice calm pictures today.

Ok four scaredy cats
and one very brave I don't really think so!!!  I have always been terrified of heights.  This has been a long project (three years in the making) starting off with little steps, journaling, going a little farther, journaling, etc., based on the concept that many of our unrealistic fears keep us from becoming who we were created to be.  Yes, it took four tries to walk out and stand on the ledge and it was facing an unrealistic fear.  The ledge was constructed safely. Thousands of individuals had stood on it, therefore, it was an unrealistic fear that something would happen if I stood on it.  The saga began on retreat three years ago and has continued and each time it is faced on a greater level, one becomes more whole.
Edda, dear, I will have to check and see if I have pictures of the Chicago skyline.  It is truly amazing.
Buba, The pictures of Autumn in your city are wonderful.  Everytime I see pictures of Novi Sad, it makes me want to visit all the more. The puffy little birdies look like one just wants to bring them in and keep them warm.   I love your little birdie.  He is so cute.  I was told once that if you want to take a picture through a window, to hold the lens of the camera directly against the glass and you will get a clear picture.  It doesn't look like you needed to do this. I love the second picture of him.
Jude, thank you for posting the pandas.  Pandas and Koala's have always been favorites.
Marie, it is so good to see you posting pictures again.  The evergreens are beautiful.  One looks like a white pine.  Do you put lights on them for Christmas.  Your little bridge is a wonderful reminder of life.  We always seem to have little bridges to cross.  The real task is to begin.
Sandra,it's been a while since I saw pictures from you----HHHHHHmmmmmmm.  You asked about Chicago being on water--remember "my" lake???  She is the second largest of the Great Lakes and is bounded by four states, but there is no way that you would know that.  She is a very commanding lady.

Blessings to all on the rest of your week.
Betty
