Isabella said:I think it´s enough for some night owls evenmy

it is indeed I envy you for having such yummy things in your freezer.I do hope you saved some for me!

Dearest Puff I can see why National Geographic chose these photos as some of their favourites ..Each photo is outstanding!!

It is the only time that they make Peppermint.
Gosh you get mint ice cream all year round over here.Well that's if mint ice cream is peppermint but I am sure it is.

Buba you have been a very busy bird once again:).I did laugh as you happily helped another bridie out :)
I am pleased it's sunny across the pond long may it last...yikes Friday 13th did you say:(

from Buba...Sparrow dear do you still have problems with naughty photobucket?
Maybe I could come and help you :

Yes, I am dear Buba,
but I have a mountain of other things to take care of today,
so I cannot do anything about it.
I would be more than happy for you to help me . . .
you can be my photobucket fairie . . .

Dear Betty . . .
The National Geographic photographs are spectacular
and I cannot choose a favorite.
I wish I had some of Isabella's ice cream to go with watching.
Peppermint is delicious,
but Butter Pecan is splendiforous . . .

Sandra dear,
Peppermint is not the same as Mint.
Peppermint is pink with little pieces,
and Mint I think,
is spearmint . . . green mint or with mint flavoured chocolate chips.
Peppermint is like 'candy cane' . . .
oh dear, I'm getting hungry.

The places in your photographs are very peaceful . . .
lovely places to rest the sould
when one wants to be alone . . .
amidst so much beauty

My problem with mint flavoring is that at times I don't know if tooth paste tastes like mint, or mint like tooth paste!

For this reason I tend to be picky about what kind of peppermint flavor candy I enjoy.
Frango Mints, now Macy's, pass the test as do the Fanny May's Meltaways!

Sorry I have confused everyone.  There is Peppermint Ice Cream where the small chips of peppemint candy "melt" into the ice cream and start turning it pink.  Then there is mint chocolate chip Ice Cream
that is peppermint flavored and has pieces of dark chocolate chips in it.

The peppermint (white with pieces of "candy cane" type peppermint) is the only they only make here during the Christmas holidays.  Sorry for the confusion.

Buba, I was naming two kinds of chocolate candy. The outside is chocolate, the inside a dense, mint-flavored chocolate cream. Their mint flavor does not have that artificial taste found in other mint-flavored products.

The first one, Frango Mints, used to be the specialty of a beloved department store here in Chicago, Marshall Field's. It was bought by another department store chain and became Macy's. Fanny May is a candy maker with stores in many locations.
I think Betty and others on this side of the Atlantic would recognize these names!

I am sorry I confused you!

Edda

Dearest Betty and dearest Edda,
you do not need to be sorry about confusing me with "mint" sweets
Thank you to both of you for explanations;Betty ice cream looks very yummy.
I have never tasted them, the only mint-sweet I tasted was After Eight (thin chocholate mints)
~sending love to you both~

are they brightening your home?

Yes they are, dear Sparrow, and it needs brightening! What with the heavy showers and dark clouds, and the mad behaviour of some of its inmates!

The flowering period of the cactus is so brief, but worth the wait.

Isabella,

The ice cream Betty showed looks more creamy white to me than pink on my screen.
I think food coloring or fruit extracts are used to give ice creams their color. Of course,
coffee and chocolate provide their own color! You mentioned hazelnut ice cream which I love, but I haven't seen it here!

Your picture shows what is called Candy Cane here, and is mostly sold at Christmas time.

Love,
Edda

A dear friend's job required a trip to Africa recently which was taken with camera in hand.  I asked to put some of the photos
on the beauty thread since we are all somewhat familiar with the beauty of the continents of Europe and America.  As I get a chance, I
will post pictures recently taken by my friend while in Africa. I don't know about all of you, but I doubt I will ever be able to go so here is some
African Beauty

Birds on the back of a Hippo

Two views of Cape Town Peninsula

One of the beaches with pine trees

Mandela Bird of Paradise

Jude, Your flowers are so bright and cheery.  I love the Christmas cactus (that's what we call it in the states).

Isabella, Kann ich erklären. Das Eis hat  darin. Die Feuchtigkeit im Eis erweicht sich
Das dreht das rosa Eis, wo es Stücke der Süßigkeiten gibt.  Ich hoffe, dass das hilft.

Hugs and prayers,
Betty
