Thankful One, Yes, the picture may well show one of the traditional Austrian costumes, although I could not say from which part of our country. Austria consists of nine provinces, and not only does each of them have their own characteristic clothes (today only used on festive occasions), but even the dresses of single valleys within one province differ considerably. Unfortunately I am not technically skilled, or I would post a prettier example . Maybe some day later on...

Thankful one, thank  you for posting pictures of some places I visisted several years ago. I have an engraving of Heiligenblut in wintertime by Luigi Casismir, gifted to me by a friend. You summertime image is far more colorful!
 
I can't place this costume either! As Juliana says, there is such a variety of costumes that one probably most easily recognizes the one from one's own part of the country.

Jessica, Re: Posting pictures. What I have discovered recently is when I post from a file I have, my pictures are not posting. But when I copy from the original source they always post.
