Im reminded today about how much FEAR my mind tends to gravitate towards sometimes.

Fear of things that MIGHT happen.....
Fear of the future..
Fear of ... STUFF that most likely WONT even happen.. blah blah.

This morning I am quieting my mind reminding myself to lovingly bring my mind towards THIS MOMENT and to forgive myself and everyone else. Ive heard for many years that FEAR means--

False Evidence Appearing Real

BUT this quote even makes me feel calmer. It is

F E A R

Forgetting
Everythings
All
Right.

WOW. It really helped me a lot to calm down and not worry or stress.

ahhhhhhhhhh just wanted to share it.

Michelle, your post reminds me of a similar definition of fear.

Fantasy
Experienced
As
Reality

It was added to a supposedly true story (from one of the former novices who now was ordained a priest) about an old house that had been bought and renovated to serve as a seminary novitiate. The second story supposedly was haunted. The novice master told the seminarians that if they saw the ghost (which this individual actually had) instead of running from it in FEAR, they should just calmly go over to it and begin a conversation with "it". If they were willing to do this, they then would no longer be bothered by it.

When the "knot begins to develop in the gut" this story always pops back to mind.

Michelle and Betty, I like both of your definitions of fear. I'm a master of the art of 'what might happen' and 'what might have happened'

Hi all
I happened on this post as I wrote in the Grateful today post...it was very helpful to me as I have not felt well and the medicine is working as it should but I can easily slip into FEAR and awefulize and focus on the negative so your post heped me to accet this and move to
Forever
Abiding
In
The
Higher Power
Namaste & Gratefully
Hope coach
