I hope that you will pray with me for my eldest son Bobi who is aged 20. he is very restless within himself. He lives at home with us but has decided to give up his job and go travelling Europe from next month. Although I understand him wanting to see different things and expand his horizons, I am worried for him as he has never lived away from home and has never really been on his own for any length of time. I pray that he finds positive focus in his life, I ask the Lord to bless and protect him and keep him safe always. I ask this in the name of Love.Amen

Dear Glenys,
Of course I will pray with you that your son will be kept safe and have only good experiences.

I understand your anxiety.

Hi Jude and Edda
Thank you both for praying with me for Bobi. I feel really anxious about him going. If he had friends going with him, I might feel a bit better, you hear so many negatve things on the news etc. Hoping that you are both well and that your loved ones are doing o.k.
Namaste

Dear Glenys,
Try only to think of a positive outcome. The negative thoughts will come, but try not to give them 'house-room.'

Blessings, Jude

Dear Glenys, you are welcome!
Leon is progressing well after his hip surgery which makes me happy. Taking care of him and shoveling all that snow with which we are blessed this winter keep me busy!

As Jude says, think of all the good things. One can waste so much energy worrying about things that never happen, nor does worrying prevent anything from happening! Yes, I know, this is easier said than done!

Much love,
Edda

Dear Glenys. Your son Bobi sounds like a brave young man. He is young and maybe he needs to have some adventure in his life before he settles down into adulthood. I pray that he has a great time and has wonderful experiences. I also pray that he will be safe.

I can imagine how hard this is for you I am a mother too. Mothers never stop worrying about our children.
Bless you

Dear Glenys, How well I understand your care and worries! I am reminded of the time when my son went to the USA for a year, then to Rumania, Poland and Lithuania, and finally to Kenya and Uganda! Today he often says how much he has benefited from these experiences. I trust your son will say the same after he has returned safely. Bobi and you are kept in my prayer.

Hugs,
Juliana

Dear Glenys, It must be a guy thing!!! Like Juliana, I too, had a son who decided he would spend 6 months backpacking Europe on a very limited budget. "If he had friends going with him" your concern and the knot in your gut are well understood. This past fall he decided to return alone again, this time climbing solo in the Dolomites in Italy and then mostly solo in the Swiss Alpes. May I share with you a blessing prayer that I often said for him. I adjusted it a little from Ed Hayes Prayers for the Domestic Church.

Blessed are you, Lord our God,
For you have created a wide and wonderful world In which to travel.
Creator God, I ask your blessing upon ____________ As (he/she/they) are/is about to leave on this trip.
May you, Holy Guide of Travelers, Be his/her ever near companion, Spreading the road before him/her.
With beauty and adventure.
Free that road from all harm and evil, And send as his/her escorts Your holy spirits, Your angelic messengers
Who accompanied the holy ones of days past.
On this journey, may he/she take with him/her As part of his/her traveling equipment A heart wrapped in wonder
With which to rejoice in all he/she shall meet.
Along with that clothing of wonder, May he/she have room in his/her luggage
For A mystic map. With the aid of this map, may he/she read the invisible meanings Of the events of this journey –
Of possible disappointments and delays, Of possible breakdowns and rainy day troubles.
Always awake to Your Sacred Presence And to Your divine compassionate love, May he/she see in all that happens,
In the beautiful and the bad, The mystery of Your holy plan.
May you Creator God be his/her light To illumine and guide him/her
May you be his/her shield and shadow To protect him/her
May You, our Risen Lord be on his/her right and left, Before him/her, behind him/her, and around him/her
And may this blessing of our Mother/Father God
Risen Son and Brother
And Holy Spirit of wisdom,
Be upon you throughout this trip;
May it shield you from all harm
And bring you home again in safety and in peace
Amen

As men, they do not need to know that this is our prayer for them. Know that you will be joined in prayer for his safety and that he be completely open to the Holy One's plans for this trip. If you have a candle link, please let me know and I will include candles with prayers.

Hi Everyone, Thank you all for your words of encouragement and support and prayers. I am trying to focus on the positives that he will receive from this trip and praying that the love, values and guidance that we have tried to pass on to him and to our youngest son are enough to help him make positive and healthy choices for himself. Bless You All. Glenys x

Glenys, Poland must be the place to go this year, as yours is the second post I've just read about it! My Son and his girlfriend are skiing there at the moment.

Hi Glenys,
Poland & skiing sound wonderful. I've never been skiing and have only seen pictures of Poland in the National Geographic. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I hope that your son has a great time on his trip and returns home safely. Have him take a cell phone so that you can keep in contact with him.
Bless you both.

Hi Vicky and Jude, Thank you both for your support. Poland was really lovely, quite a lot of snow and the skiing lessons , hire of equipment was very reasonable I think compared to other areas.
My husband and I had not been skiing before and it was on our " things we would like to do" list. We really enjoyed it and if we can afford it, will go again! Wishing you both and all whom you hold dear, blessings, health and joy. Namaste

Hi All, Bobi is going in a week's time, it's arriving far too quickly. Who would have thought I would be a " clingy mother"?!. I would be so grateful if you would continue to pray with me that he enjoys his travels and keeps safe and healthy.  Namste Glenys x

Glenys,
I will keep Bobi in my prayers. I pray that he has a wonderful travel experience. He will return home safely with beautiful pictures and memories of a lifetime of his travels.
Glenys, I know as a Mom you will worry (I speak from experience). He has many prayers going to God for his safe return. I am also praying that you will find peace during Bobi's travel and be able to relax.

God, please keep Bobi safe. Amen
Love
Vicky

Dear Glenys,

What you are feeling is only natural. I have stopped calling myself a "clingy" mother. I take it to be only a label attached to us by others who have never felt that way, or by our children, when they "spread their wings", which they have to... As  mothers we will always remain connected with our children on the deepest level, the level of LOVE. I think we only have to learn to entrust them to it, knowing that there they are safe.
A friend of mine, mother of four, put it that way: When my children were young, I used to talk with them about God. Now I talk with God about them.

Peace and hope!
Juliana
